Risque don't you think?? Not when I'm being silly and asking what brand of mic you use and if you like it or not. I'm in the market for a new one and I just wanted to get a consensus. So please spill it about the mic you blow into :) |

A Shure SM58 is a standard that most everyone likes. An EV D767-A mic is also good for vocals. |

I am trying to decide if I like me SM58s better than my Sennheiser e845s. The base effect seems better on the Sennheisers. |

Shure Beta 58A corded & the Shure Beta 87A corded and wirless. Waiting on my Shure 55SH to come in. (The old Elvis style) Always wanted one and alot of the music I sing goes back to the use of that mic. Kelly |

BTW what is the best mike for bass? I do "Big Bad John" and parts of the chorus seems to disappear. Or is it all in the mix? |

I would think it has more to do with the mix. I'm sure some are better suited but a good kj should be capable of adjusting for it. Kelly |

For bass hold mic close... To get rid of lisp hold it above upper lip aimed down.... |

Is it going to be used for general karaoke singing or more for recording? |

Post subject: | Re: Who do you blow? |
Initially for general singing but eventually some 'hobby' recording. BTW my range is from middle C and down 2 octaves (C below the bass clef). |

Sennheisers Here and a couple of cheap Behringer Mics (not too bad for the money but wouldnt suggest for your mains unless you have a rowdy crowd) Not to hijack this but on the microphone subject .. Can anyone explain FREQUENCY REPSONSES I see the lesser quality microphones have frequency ranges like 80Hz- 15kHz Other higher quality mics like the SM58 have a range like 50Hz-15kHz :thinkin: |

   Well, lets see....... I blow Tommy (that's what I named my SM58) And I blow Bobby (that's what I named my SM57) Both respond very well too. (oh, and I used to blow Odie's EV mic, never got aroud to naming that one, but he took it away from me... .... Great mic tho) . |

Can anyone explain FREQUENCY REPSONSES I see the lesser quality microphones have frequency ranges like 80Hz- 15kHz Other higher quality mics like the SM58 have a range like 50Hz-15kHz :thinkin: It means the lesser quality mics can't handle the frequency range as well. The Shure mics can go lower (into the bass region). |

Shure SM58 here but I would really like to try another mic if someone could recommend one for a female with a range that at times is lower than most men |
