My muffler fell off on the way to the gig tonight. It's a good thing I left a little early. Had to stop in Sears to get the van on the lift to get it the rest of the way off. The tailpipe was stuck over the axil.
Driving in the passing lane, going up a hill. I heard a funny noise. Pulled over to look. The muffler was dragging on the road. Too wet from rain to lay down, so I drove on down the shoulder. Get to Sears, they are leaving for the night. Kid gets the manager to open the bay door. He starts to pull it on the rack and the muffler gets stuck against the gas tank. I just filled it up. 30 gallons of gas ready to blow out if he pokes the muffler through the tank. Had to jack up the backend to get the muffler dislodged. Got the van on the rack, took the tailpipe off the axil and left. He said no charge. I give him two tens. He split it with the kid.
My day is planned for Monday. New muffler and tailpipe. All my pay from tonight was spent before I even set up to play.

Man that bites -
It must have been the night for it - I get to my gig Sat. night I'm just getting started and my 19 yr old daughter calls. Her car won't start. She is 30 min. away from me,
doesn't have her cell phone, with $2 in her pocket. She calls from a department store phone. Aaaaarrrrrg!!!!!!

MUFFLER?....Wuzzat?....I so much love my backwoods life!....First thing I did when I got the Silverado was head to the local muffler shop and have them remove the muffler and install straight duals....Once I got it home I punched out the cat.....My dually is next......straight duals, no mufflers....wife loves to drive the Silverado cause it sounds so sweet....you will see/hear trucks so new they still got paper tags sporting straight pipes down here.....It's a redneck thang. :worship: :dancin:

No bf now. Part of the problem is kids now a days don't remember phone numbers. They have cell phones that do all the thinking for them. I'm surprised when she remembers her hm phone number because it's on speed dial. LMAO Quote: I punched out the cat
Did you think I'd miss that. Shame on you!

Hon, if had been a real cat I'da drop-kicked it into traffic......I HATE cats!......They make my skin crawl!........I want a pet that wags it's tail when it sees me....like my wife does.
If your daughter was playing the boys right, they would be following her....I mean stalking her.

Cute. but nah, I already have basketball sneakers hanging from my rear view mirror. That's enough glamour for me.

Yeah, Hearing that your exhaust pipes need to be replaced, and your transmission is shot, are a few things I don't like hearing at auto repair shops.
Save money and do the right thing
