I used to watch shows aimed at teenagers that had a family or a group pf friends that played in a band. I would enjoy the music well enough, some of my favorite songs were written for those shows.

Well, one of the channels I've been watching lately as "research" for work is adult swim. They have a new show called Metalocalipse. I was sure I would hate it because of all the violence and stuff. I was wrong. I want to learn that lead singer's voice. I tried listening t it a minute ago but GiGi is not a fan of Death Metal. I din't know I was 'til last week. http://www.adultswim.com/downloads/inde ... alocalypse

My Doc won't like this.

Somehow I find it very grounding.

The Monkees (3 No. 1 hits, 1 #2, 2 #3's) and the Partridge Family (1 No. 1, 1 #6, 1 #9) are the most famous ones.    Had many hit songs that were actually very good.

Milli Vanilli had 3 #1 hits, 1 #2, 1 #4.  and that was all the songs that they charted.

Pretty good for not even singing them.   LMAO LMAO   LMAO

I would like to have just one.

The Archies had at least one.

The X-Presidents never released any of theirs but that's a good thing. They were too preachy.

Credit Neil Diamond for one of the Monkees hit.

What was the Fox soap after Bev 90210 about a band, but I think it had a hit with "How do you talk to an angel"

And does Blues Brothers count?

Blues Brothers wasn't really a fake band - it started out as a skit, but turned into something real, but even in the skits, they used the SNL band of the day & they really sang & played harmonica.

What about the Banana Flips and Kermit the frog and Elmo.     Do the Teletubies have any songs?

Yep, we wrote several of Monkee's songs. Also, Jan and Dean wrote a couple of their hits as well.

Technically, but I consider a true 'fake' band as a band that aren't playing instruments themselves - such as the Partridge Family, none of which were actually playing or even played in real life.  However David Cassidy is the actual singer in the studio recordings & the real touring version of the band.  The Darlings - although not their real name - were playing the music themselves.  Beverly Hillbillies had a several fake for the show bands that were very real & played.

They did tour - not the tv band, but David Cassidy (Keith) & the actual studio band that was used.  Actually I believe Shirley Jones did some of the actual studio vocals as well, but didn't do any touring.

Okay, googling "the Darlings" now to see what the heck you're talking about. Why don't I recall that from the Andy Griffith show? I must be losing my memory, I used to watch that show faithfully. (must be a grandma thing... first the memory, goes, next... the boobs)   LMAO
