Jian, any DVD player would have the capability of playing CD-G format correct ? How about CD players ? Are there some older models out that can not, even with correct plug-ins ? |

If we are talking about software based player, the ans is yes , and no. Most software based multimedia players can read the audio part of the song but will not read the lyric subcode. So yes they can play it but without the lyric. Winamp cn do that with the right plugin, and so is Power CDG player http://www.powerkaraoke.com/ |

depends if you are playing tracks already stored in your puter or off disc, the plug ins are both avail for winamp but are different. |

Ok, I Down Loaded WinAmp and the "CDG_Disk_Player_Plugin.exe" Plug In. The plugin says I can play 60 secs with the unregister version. I want to try it first before I register for $24.95. The registration window pops up but I can not play the 60 sec. Any suggestions? |

I did not realized that you need to register it. Try and get a copy from http://cabaret-karaoke.info/download.html#s1 a site belonging to Karyoker. |

Okay. Not sure why it worked but I went to the Plugin Registration site at http://www.physysteme.com/ then went to in_cdg_download.html and DL their evaluation ver and now it works for the first 60 sec like it was supposed to do it the first place. Maybe this will help someone else trying to do the same thing. Thanks |

I'm able to play CD+G's off of CD's and MP3+G files from my hard drive by just using the freebie version of WinAmp with a couple of plugins. Everything was free -- no registration required. Here's a .ZIP file that has everything if you want to use it: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?a ... 463ED80A49 |

Jian, I didn't have to pay when I downloaded the files in July. Maybe things have changed since then? |

Thanks for all your comments. Giving up for now. Got a temper & its rearing its ugly head in frustration, after all of that trouble getting the plug in we're trying it out w /adobe & layed the 1st track down fine go to lay the voice track down it does the 60 secs. ( like we expected) just to find out that its really hard to match the 1st track up with the 2nd one SOOO much work involved in this computer recording think we'll try the studio a second time maybe with a different song or something maybe it wont sound so god awful this time. Can only get better right??? :grumble: :grumble: :grumble: Oh I have another question how many of you just use backing tracks ( just music no words on screen ) to record? I find it very hard to keep with timing like this. |
