What on earth is your problem? Are you threatened by people that show more intelligence?
I stumbled onto this place a month ago, trust me it is not YOUR wit and humour that has kept me entertained and therefore kept me returning.
It is not YOUR technical knowlege that has seen me learn more over the last month than I have over the last year.
Those credits belong to others and yes Steven Kaplan is one of them, as is Jian and Lonman. These people can be relied upon time and time again to help a newcomer
Now either you are feeling intellectually threatened, you have small man syndrome or perhaps you were behind the door when masculine appendages were handed out, whatever your story I frankly could care less, but instead of whinging why not try a change of attitude. Because what you are currently trying to achieve is some form of childish taking sides that can only see more ill-feeling.
Then again perhaps you are only content when everyone else is at each others' throats
Blessed Be

Hmmm..... OK if KS members are able to cast votes to ban people, what exactly is the criteria that needs to be met in order to receive a ban vote? Something as simple as bad sentence structure like I just did, profanity, offensive topics or posts (offensive in what way?), flaming, sexist talk, racial slurs? I think each of us has our own hierarchy of what's bad in posting. I think very specific guidelines need to be agreed upon before people are banned. Are we all in agreement on just what these guidelines are? Are we all agreeing with and adhering to the KS guidlines that are listed?

Can I ban the good looking people, so when they are all banished, I am left, and looking darn good?:)
Hmm.. now THAT's a thought!:)
Allstar- I see you censored how MANY votes you currently have. Good idea;) Ya don't want people seeing you only need soooo many more, and hitting ban THAT many times:)
Sadly... i don't SEE what about those particular posts warrant a ban.
If THOSE get a ban vote... why do have the things I write do not? And a lot of OTHER people?
Maybe admin could come in and explain to ALL of us poor confused people? I saw that webguru was in and removed a PICTURE You posted... maybe daddy could return, and explain the whole ban thing to me?
Ok. Buh bye.

I think in most cases that it is an error on the part of people hitting the wrong button.
Below I have shown the difference between the buttons that the moderators have as compared to the buttons a member has.
I would like to figure out how to reposition the placement of the buttons so that this error doesn't continue.
I am notified each time that a member reports a post and when a member has voted to "ban" a member. Ultimately the banning of a member is up to management. I have reset or so I hope the ban votes that were placed against AllStar. Although he and I may not always agree (usually we do but anyhoo) I have not requested that he be banned.
Personally, I have only come across a few members that deserved to be banned. That is very old history and some members may remember one in particular that caused problems. For the most part, our membership is allowed to make posts (within reason) on any subject matter -- and do so without any moderator or management intervention.
I am going to start my own karaoke forum and allow only myself to be a member that way I know for certain that there isn't any contradiction or conflicts. NO You cannot know the web address!!!
I think that as long as members follow the rules as outlined there shouldn't be any problems. But as human nature is not everyone will agree...

Thanks for posting, babe. That cleared up SOME things that were confusing me:)
What I was thinking.. was no ban or report BUTTON, at all.... make a form you have to fill out, and hit send... if someone is REALLY angry about something or insulted, they will certainly take the time to fill it out. Howeeeever.... the button is TOOO easy.. and could be simply used for a quick retaliation. Does that make sense, Phill?
ANyways, just an idea.
Your own personal karaoke forum sounds like VERY good idea. I live in my own little world already, so i KNOW from experience, it works:)

Okay now that makes more sense.
When I first heard of the ban button I thought well if someone
is upset about a post why do they not just use the report button.
I guess the ban button is a better way to keep track of the number
of times a member is found to be offensive by other members and
also a way to warn that person they are being watched. I much rather
have a heads up first to change my behavior and know how close I am
to being kicked off the site.
I think it's a good idea. I know the moderators are just trying to find ways to
make this a better site and deal with the complaints they've been getting about
flaming.
