The bf and I went on a 90mile ride yesterday. My bum still hurts.
We only stopped twice - once for star bucks and once for supper.
I love to go riding with him, but I don't think he'll ever understand
that being on the back of a bike is different than being the driver.
The seat definately isn't as comfortable and you get tossed around more.
My back hurts, my hips ache and my bum is numb. LMAO
Any of you ladies know what I'm talking about?

You are making me think of some pretty funny stories. LMAO
Nothing I would repeat on here, but they involve injuries at the worst
times, where a helmet would have been a good idea.
We better be careful the government will have us wearing helmets and
seat belts in bed.

Chuck, she directed this at the ladies. Funny but when I think of sex, it doesn't involve hip pain or an aching back. (hmmm, iffey on this one) If that happens it was either really bad or really good but not the norm, for sure. ...and I never get the numb bum (really) LMAO -no really! Chuck if you ever had this tell her to put away those knick knacks!

I dropped 3 bikes including my friend Steve's brand new Suzuki back in the 80's. He buffed out the damage but he wasn't too happy with me. I told him not to trust me but he wouldn't listen. If I ever own another motorcycle I will know how I'm leaving the world. It's better for me to stay away from motorcycles. I just get in trouble, but have avoided any serious injuries so far.

I've never been a huge fan of motorcycles. Not road legal ones anyhow. For one, I have NO desire to be some guys "passenger gal" all the time. And, I never learned to ride one good enough myself. I had an offroad bike once when I was 16, but heck... there was no concrete to scratch me all up when I bit the dust... just good old fashioned cushiony mud. LOL I'd much rather ride a horse.
Now, make ATV's road legal, and I'd go buy one to drive to work. But not motorcyles.
Babs, next time, make him let YOU drive. Then he'll have a little more compassion for you, when you have to ride shotgun.
Motorcycles are just another item to feed men's egos. They think they have to drive, they always have to fix things, they know how best to spend the money, they think they have to always have the top so they're the agressor.....

I'm with charmin here... if I am on a bike, I AM the gd driver... not hanging off the guys back:)
And charmin, 'round here in the winter, people drive snowmobiles to work. It is amusing to pull up to the gas station in the winter, and see 4 snowmobiles lined up....

THAT would be cool. You know, me and hubby came really close to moving to Alaska when my kids were small. I dunno if I coulda stood that, but it might have been fun for a little while. He would have made REALLY good money there, but they say it's very expensive to live there, for a family. And... there was no way he was leaving me and the kids behind to go work. I would been like "Oh, okay, and by the way... don't forget to sign the divorce papers on the way out the door" LOL
But I LOVE the snow, always have. Then again, I love the sun too.

Actually in alot of NE "rural" areas, some people can too... Given a choice between summer's that get over 60 and muggy (which MOST of course do), I'd take 4-seasons a year where people can drive snow-mobiles, I simply HATE heat and humidity.

You do not want to be on a motorcycle around some of these Ct drivers. The problem is almost never the person on the motorcycle. It's the metal the motorcycle doesn't have around it when the driver of the car hits the bike. In HS, I lost friends to only two reasons.... Suicides, and MOTORCYCLES... That was enough of a rude awakening for me.. They just aren't forgiving vehicles..

Steven, it gets DARN cold here in the winter! In NS, the summers are mild, and winters are mild, because of the surrounding water, keeping it cooler in the summer, and warmer in the winter.. but here? My first winter here I was shocked at the extreme dry cold..... my earrings would freeze to my ears.. , sky's snot frozen to her face, is NOT an attractive look:) Winter boots are not for fashion, but warmth:) I am going to post a pic here, when i find it, of our walkway towards the end of winter here, this year...

this is the walkway between my house, and the neighbors... snow is about waist high in the yard, you can see the OTHER neighbors chain link fence on the other side is covered, for example... daughter couldn't play ALL winter, unless we wanted to dig her out later;)
and the attached one, is going up the steps into our house.... this is AFTER it melted.. it WAS taller than Me.... like, a snow tunnel to the door:) And, this is MILD!:)

When I lived in Center City Minnesota, we lived right next door to a snowmobile dealership. My friend Randy had a Panther and a.....Jaguar? I used to love going snowmobiling but would occasionally get myself in trouble even on those. Know why they tell you to only go straight up a hill? I found out the hard way going full throttle up a hill at an angle. The snowmobile starts to teeter to one side, whereas it almost came down solid on my left leg. Oh, if only I had the ability to follow directions. Maybe there are reasons they tell you this stuff. hmmm [schild=13 fontcolor=FFFFFF shadowcolor=0000FF shieldshadow=1]Who needs directions?[/schild]
