I can tell it's over, when I hear the crickets start in the beginning of August.

2nd that! I think we just have one big long summer here with a brief shot of fall-like weather around december and january hehe. Sure can't wait until the first "cold" front comes through here, but alas, that will probably not be till round 'bout Thanksgiving or something

I will spend the rest of my summer singing...Wishing it wasn't too hot to go camping, planning my son's wedding in a couple of weeks and then planning the annual party I have every year in the fall (it used to be summer but last year a few of my guest looked like they were going to wilt out in the heat in the backyard)....
A lot of work and good times still to come for me...I think summer is just a frame of mind....And besides it seems like it never really cools off until halloween when you decide you are going to be a playboy bunny this year and then it is too cold to wear the costume...

The weather last halloween was perfect. The kids in our neighborhood are so polite on Halloween night. We like to site in the dark with a lot of candles burning and watch Rocky Horror. Perfect night for us.

I used to trick-or-treat in the worst of conditions. I spent 6 years of my childhood in Virginia, they get real weather.
Sadly I had to give-up trick-or-treating when I reached that age, the age of 40.

It doesn't seem like summer is ending. Saturday night the AC went
out in the bar. I had a huge crowd that slowly disappeared. I had my
hair pulled all the way back with sweat dripping off the one piece of
bang hanging out. I went to the bathroom and had to peal my pants off
like a banana. Most people escaped to the beer garden or on the front porch.
One idiot closed the window behind me on the stage because he said he was trying
to carry on a conversation outside and couldn't hear. You have to be kidding! I opened the window and told him sorry, but there is no way in he!! this window
is going to be closed.

Well at least they fixed the AC. The owner was ticked off that
night because no one called him and by the time he got there
it was to late the majority of the crowd left.
Our AC even when it on has trouble keeping up with this heat,
but it is better than nothing!

Our AC even when it on has trouble keeping up with this heat, but it is better than nothing! That's one advantage we have down here, they plan on the summer to be unbearable and the A/C guys are always ready to run out on a moments notice.

The owner has tried all kinds of things to make it better.
He put in a window AC unit and bought a giant turbo fan.
The window unit didn't help much at all. The big fan is so powerful
it blows the cigarette butts and ashes right out of the ash trays. LMAO
When he first set it up he put it by the stage and it blew books, pencils,
slips and my tip jar all over the place. It was actually quite humorous.

Yeah, I was supposed to go play tennis here this afternoon and my friend Bill said it's too hot outside? Maybe, but we have played in this weather before. Bill has now submitted his first tune in Singer's Showcase (as planet Bill). I was wondering if I wasted 50 points given to him because it took a month for him to get enough interest in doing more than just registering.
He and I and another friend of mine are hitting karaoke tonight, starting with home brews (some of the best I ever had) at The Draught House in Austin. Yummy!
