Those who post don't sub and those who sub don't post.
There are a few who do both.
There are a few who post only but never sub.
There are many who were active in the forum then but now confine them self to SS.

Just an observation.

Look at page one in SS and how many of those names you see at the forum page. Its the same the other way round. Almost like two different sites with little over lap of 'membership'

I quit posting here because, I don't want to waste time being attacked by BigDog. Which is what happened the very first time I put anything up on a post. I have a very hard time with people that think they are SOOOO GREAT!  Nobody could be that perfect.  So yes, I do tend to stay closer to SS now.  I post there after listening and sub too.  The majority of everyone on here is great, I would just rather listen to some good music rather that put up with a little ankle biter.

THIS is one of the many reasons why people stop posting, and end up at SS or some other karaoke site.

I'm still in a learning phase... but sometime after I feel safe enough to post a real pic instead of clip art -- I may actually feel safe enough to post on the SS side someday.

And if someone's saying "what does a newbie know about these forums?"
Well, I actually DO know a little bit about both forums because admittedly I've been a guest who lurked, listened to good tunes, read some hilarious web posts and was just too plain shy to sign up and join in.  Did this for months before I signed on the dotted line.

I hesitated so long because this place (in both forums) is filled with so many hugely talented people -- I didn't know if I could measure up.  Still don't know, but I'm gonna try.

IMHO music is an art form expressed on both sides of this website -- and I think you'll be surprised at how much both sides need each other -- I sure wouldn't remotely consider ever posting on the SS without a community on the KS side that let me know I'm among friends

Awaken2  to JIAN and  :)

sweetEMT2, BigDog is one of the biggest thorns in my side.

If he had said those things to me I would have reported him.

sweetEMT2    I am a two finger typer.   So my response time is slowed because of that.  But also my response time is slowed, because I do not just type in a quick response and hit send.   Most of my replys are well thought out and re edited many times before I hit send.   Just as this post will be re edited and has already been several times.   The longer they are, the longer it takes to post.   I have taken as long as an hour or more to write up some of my responses.   I did not personally attack anyone and I did not attack you.    Just because somebody's post popped up right after yours, doesn't mean that anything was directed at you or that it was even in response to you.   20 other people could have responded to the entire post before I made mine.   99.9% of my posts have been general responses.    So lighten up.

honestly.. last year I used to post equally in the forums and SS..

then.. things were getting ugly and mean in the forums so I went to SS more and stayed out of here.. didn't need the negative vibes from the forums..

but lately.. I'm seeing bickering in subs taking place so I'm there less too and I swing by the forums once in awhile and just avoid the threads that have turned semi-ugly.. but I'm not here as often as I used to be anyways.. so this post doesn't really matter  LOL

anywaysssssssss   hey everyone lol

Exactly....Cindy (Foxey)

As of last week my subbing on SS has stopped.  You can't enjoy it anymore and it doesn't even have to happen to me.  It's just watching it happen to the other people.
It's gone way beyond critiquing someone's talent.  It has now gotten to where people are out to ruin people's character.

I have watched as a paying member on SS has been reduced to not even being able to leave their sub up over a day without some nasty comment being left on it.  I contacted two of these people and I now have an email in my possession that bluntly tells me he will ruin this person's reputation at all costs.  Now where is the professionalism in all this?   I think this was just the straw that broke the camel's back for me after I saw another of his goonies begin to attack this person and I ended up having some words with him also.  And it's not just this person being attacked either.

I'm also finding out that people that I highly respected on there are doing things that they might be respected for long if the truth was known.  So my faith has pretty much gone.

My time is done on SS.  I don't pay $100 a year to be a part of something like that.
I expect to see debates in the forums but it's pretty hard to take the attacks happening on the SS board.   That is suppose to be about music....

Just another     :2cents:  that's not worth much.

I am so sorry that is happenening to SS. I mostly post in the discussion forum, but have played in SS quite a bit. I guess you could say I do both.

I have read some not called for comments in SS. Some really mean spirited things.
What I find reassuring is the regulars come to that persons defense. When people are jerks it just makes themselves look like jerks. The good people have to stick around to keep the bad at bay. If you let them take over they will. But from what I can tell the majority of people are good and take care of their own. I've seen it in here too. If someone gets out of line the members quickly let them know it.

I won't be going anywhere.

Anybody can PM me to talk about stuff if they want but if anyone is being harassed I recommend that they report it.

I don't think the mods like the people being picked on. It hasn't happened to me yet so I can't speak from experience. Just know that I don't want to see good people leave. :D

...and Babs, Cookie's looking rather sporty today.

Worth something to me...

Hate to see you give up -- you're one of my favs

No you probably haven't seen comments from me on the SS side -- I've been just listening until recently -- but look for me in the future if you hang in there -- you earned the "10" in your handle.  Example: your most recent "Rock Me Baby" totally rawkkks!!

Hmm think I'll go put a comment on it now -- do you read comments after they've been subbed for more than a week?  I'l try anyway...

There is no way for Phil to catch everything going on there.  He's fully aware of this whole situation.  And he's done what he could do, I believe.  As for us all sticking together....Yeah...I thought that would happen too but unfortunately they are right back in support of these people who are doing this stuff.   The one person stops and either goes in under another name or has someone else to do the dirty work for awhile.  I'm not sure that this type of behavior can be stopped.   But I will say....in Phil's defense, Phil has taken care of what he could but he just doesn't catch all of it.  Sometimes the comments are edited before he ever sees them but by then the damage is done.

WELL for the most part I would probably agree with you.. and not to cause controversy with you.. but Babs the sad truth tho is sometimes people that come to other people's defense really don't know the entire story behind some of the stuff.. so they are defending kind of blindly.. and once they've begun the defending.. its hard to hear the other side of the story that may make a person realize maybe their loyalty has been misguided.. I've seen this happen before and have been caught in the middle before.. its usually not pretty..

There are two sides to everything.. Some will back up this person and other people will back up that person.. its going to happen.. because everyone has their own set of friends and some will fightly loyaly on their friend's behalf until the bitter end. Doesn't really mean EITHER side is 100% right..

I get into trouble usually because I won't pick sides of it.. especially if its two friends of mine fighting.. the problem is between them.. not me.. if I get drug into it without throwing myself into it.. well.. the person doing the dragging can count me out as a friend in the future.

I will watch what is happening and make my own decisions based on information I get and collect while watching usually. I listen, then watch, and make a decision. Many times that annoys other people because I don't just jump off my chair to defend someone.. well like I said.. sometimes the people that expect defending wouldn't have anything to defend if they'd watch their own actions.

anyways.. off my soapbox and returning you back to your regularly scheduled polka party lol

I agree with Cindy to a certain point...

There is alot that goes on behind the scenes through emails and PM's so what is actually seen on the board can be pretty misleading at times.   But I do know from day one what started this one situation I've been referring to.  I've heard both sides from the beginning.  And it had nothing to do with music.  And the person being attacked does not deserve what's been happening to them regardless of what some may believe.

There is no excuse for someone to come to the board and morally attack someone's character.  And the ones who go along with this are just as bad as the person doing it in my mind.  I don't intend to remain neutral when someone is downright mean.  I don't support it and I don't want to appear as I do.

Those are some very good points.

I should be more careful myself. :)
Thanks for those tips Foxe.
