Hello. New to the Kj Stuff. I have done a few venues and I love it. My current setup is:  B-52 Matrix 1000 v2  speaker system, Rsq neo-e500 player, A pair of Sennheiser wireless Mics. And a Yamaha Mixer. I think the system is pretty good. Looking to expand My music library up from 1200.  Any one have any info to help a Newbie out I' am all ears.

Welcome to KS!  LMAO
We've had discussions about the RSQ NEO 500. Most of us are using
older technology. How is it working for you? There was talk that the neo
is slow to load and breaks down. I was afraid to purchase one when I was looking around for a new player. I couldn't get much feed back on it because it is so new most veteran KJs aren't using them. I ended up purchasing a vintage refurbished
player.

Well Lets see-----So for it seems to be a pretty good machine. It is a little slow to load but I have seen slower. The Machine I had before this one was a Vocopro 880pro and to be honest It really was a junky machine.  After i bought the Vp I took it to a Gig I had to do and hooked it up and it would not work at all ( God Thing I had a backup) Traded it for a new one and it worked for six weeks and BAM it quit working. The place where i bought it from Let me exchange it for the NEO-500. I have only used it a couple of times and so far it seems to be a Good machine. If I have any problems with it I will be sure to post about it.    Thanks

Rbm26,

Welcome!  Since you are looking to expand your library I assume you have checked into the NEO cdg's.  Fortunately you can play "regular" cdg's as well so you might look into a less expensive pack or other single discs from any number of manufacturers..  Do you have any idea what genre(s) you want to expand with?  That might help as far as suggestions for expanding your library.

Nice to meet you and enjoy the fun that being a KJ/Karaoke Host brings,
Susie :)

I want a real good mix of music. As far as Brand Right now almost all my music is the Chartbuster series. The quality seems to be pretty good. It seems like lots of people like the Sound Choice. I have listened to a couple of samples online and they seem pretty good also.  I want to to have a real good mix of all types of music. I have Looked into the Neo disc, But I am not real sure if I want to go with those or not. If my neo player goes downI can not play those and anything but that machine. As of right nowI have a backup CDG player. I guess I am just not sure yet?

For cost you might want to check into the Idolmaker, Sweet Georgia Brown or Supercore sets..  We have had a few KJ's specifically use the Idolmaker or Sweet Georgia Brown (and Tool Box) sets to add bulk and some pretty good songs.k  It's kind of hit and miss and a constant learning process.  You can also request "requests" from your singers; what do they want to sing?

I also prefer Chartbuster & Soundchoice but have Legends, Top Hits, Pop Hits, etc in our books.

Susie :)
