Post subject:  RSQ NEO-E500 Help

I am having a small problem with the player. The lyrics are blurry on the screen, I have tried every thing that I can Think of to correct. The only thing that I think I might be is that I am using a RF converter to connect the video to the Tv. Not sure if it would help to purchase a New tv to solve the issue. Anyone have any input on this?

Can you test on another tv?  Is it blurry on that one as well?  If so a new tv won't help.  I don't have any experience with this model so not sure what the problem could be.  The old JVC/RSQ models had a video switch in the back that could cause that problem, however I don't know if this model has that.

If you have a vcr you can use the rf outout to check your tv or you can even check it with rabbit ears.  If you get decent video then hook up the rca video out to your modulator.  Check the termination switch on the modulator if it has one, it should be on 75 ohms. Switch between channel 3 & 4.

When you say blurry.. focus? smearing? low contrast? low brightness? grainy or interference in the video? are the colors right?

I notice it most ont he color Red but doing it on all......It seems to be more like a focus issue or something. The colors or correct. Is it possible that it is coming from the cd itself?   My music is the Chartbuster Series.

I looked in the owner's manual. I thought there might be something
under trouble shooting. It looks like they are saying it's either the tv, your discs or your setup controls.
I'm doubting there would be a problem with every disc you bought. When I was looking in the manual it said if you go to function keys the P/N can be set to match the color system of your tv. Did you set up picture mode in your controls? Check your preference page for karaoke set up too. There is a place to set up video out put also. Just some ideas from the manual. Good luck!

It sounds like the tv needs to be converged..  This is when the three colors are offset and not in the same position on te screen.  Another possibilty is the colors are blooming  which can remedied by turning the color down.. If the tv is old and the crt is getting weak can cause these conditions. In either case turn the color all the way down see if you get a good black & white pic.... If misconverged you will have 3 offset images if the Black & white pic is good chances are your crt is good...

I have went through the setup controls three times and everything there seems to be set correctly. But I do thank you for the advice..It's probably an old tv issue. I will keep working on it and see what I can come up with. Thanks again.
