After some months on this, my favorite site. I have come to some heavy conclusions. The information that follows is a public service announcement. It is designed to protect everyone.
There are seven words and phrases that should never be uttered on this site, ever again. To do so causes severe anxiety, high blood pressure, blown gaskets and leads to unwarranted and sometimes violent, verbal attacks.
Remember these words must never be used together as illustrated, or mentioned on here again, unless you have access to body armor.
These seven deadly words and phrases are as follows.
1. GOOD EQUIPMENT, QUALITY KARAOKE
2. QUALITY INFORMATION/WANNABE
3. ENTERTAINER/ENTERTAIN THE NON SINGERS
4. PLAY FILLER MUSIC
5. REASONS WE SING
6. $600 CORDLESS MICROPHONES
And one so vile, so up setting, so disgusting...... I can't even say it now, because my body guard is sleeping. :asleep:
At the risk of great personal injury  and possible death.... No I can't even say it....I'll have to spell it. Here goes.
7. C----------A---------S--------H  :O  Look out, watch your back.

Big Dog, the George Carlin of karaoke LOL
So, if we can't use those 7 words what are we gonna argue about when we feel feisty? This sure takes a lot of the fun out of arguing.

Bigdog, apparently you haven't been here long enough to have known one of THE biggest no-no's for this forum.
So, knowing me, yeah... I'll go ahead and say what has caused way too many head bashings in here. (cause... that's just the kind of gal I am...) :D
*I prefer Behringer*

I hope to find out very soon how well I like Behringer. I have ordered a couple of mics made by them.

I don't have any mics by them. I still have my trusty Shure SM58, and my SM57 for my instruments. I had a nice EV mic I stole from Odie, but the dang guy came over & stole it back from me. :( But I still have his bass amp, so all is good. :D
I got a small mixer a year 1/2 or so ago, that is what I use to record on my computer... it's perfect for what I need it for. It's still working just fine... and it was even used when I got it. (Eurorack UB502) If it ever goes out, I'm sure I'll buy another of the same, or atleast close to it. Might pick up one with atleast one more XLR channel though.
Then, back in February, I bought a new powered mixer to go with my new karaoke machine. (Europower PMX2000).... and I LOVE it. I karaoke with it, but I've used it for instruments too. The effects settings have some pretty cool distortion settings for an electric guitar as well. (NOT that I rock out on an electric much... ...) But my 13 year old son does. He plays alot of ACDC stuff, and I finally had to break down and buy him a distortion pedal for his birthday this month, so he'd leave my mixer alone. :D
Anyways, I better shuddup before someone thinks I'm hijacking.... I've already had my share of threads about "to buy or not to buy Behringer". Don't need Bigdog to start biting me... so I'll drop the topic.
*sorry, wasn't trying to hijack*->->->-> (really)

Forum induced karma is quasi-functional, induced by fantasies, and short lived for it can be totally eradicated with a mouse click.. Also at proximities 3 feet or more from the computer erases all the emotions and memories of posts from the past. Or at least I hope they do...
But it is a short escape from real life and similar to getting drunk to forget for awhile.Another similarity to bar talk is the fact one doesnt have to weigh every statement or even prove them for that matter. You have drunk people making halfway sober posts and sober people making half drunk posts..

Well, since you started it . . . Behringer puts out a lot of bang for the bucks. We're using the same mixer you have for our rehearsals. If it weren't for the fact that we need more channels for our gigs and we've already got a powered mixer we use for that, we would be using the Behringer at our gigs.
If I ever get a few dollars together that I don't know what to do with (the odds are roughly equivalent of finding the final cure for cancer sometime in the next few minutes) my plan is to re-outfit myself with Behringer gear.

Oh, gosh... don't say I started it!!!
Well, I guess I did. But YOU brought it back up!! (shame on you, cause now I gotta comment back)
I do think it was great "bang for my buck".... (boy, I could make a story out of that phrase, but nah... I'll behave just this once)
If I had alot of $$ to play with, god only knows what all music stuff I'd buy. I'd start with new speakers. No, maybe I'd start with a new guitar. (That's git-tar, to the layman...) haha I'm of a mind that I want a 40's to 50's model Gibson or maybe even a Martin. I'm partial to Gibson. (dumb reason, because it's my last name.. maiden name that is... which, to me is still my last name, since it can be gained back with a simple trip to see the judge) haha But, they are good instruments anyhow, as everyone knows. I had a new, purdy one all picked out. But, a new one would just never have the experience and charisma that an old one would. I recently played a freinds Martin... I believe it was a 1956.... and geesh, it made me sound way better than I normally do. So now my real excuse to my so-so guitar (git-tar) playing is that "I have a cheap instrument". And that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
Now what were we talking about? Oh yeah, stuff we'd buy with money. Yup, nice guitar first. New speakers next. Then maybe a couple more mics. And after all is said and done, I'm 99.9% positive I'd simply grab a couple more Shure SM58's, I like them. I may would get a cordless *something* though. I'm the worlds' worst on mic cords anyhow, my new ones I bought in February, are already misbehaving. I am a cord twister, can't help it. Now sometimes I have to jiggle it where it goes into the mic, cause it's loosened up. :(
Anyhow, I'm out of stuff to say now...
