Have you ever had trouble with people noticing where you put books, sign up slips, pencils etc....? I keep mine on a table right in front of the stage with a big sign that says " request slips, pencils and books" But I still have people asking where it is - dah. I have a stuffed monkey on the table too. One of my patrons put a pair of $5 blinking sun glasses on the monkey. Works like a charm! I can't believe something so simple works so well. I don't even need the sign anymore. It's nice because my tip jar is there also and since I never mention it's existence, it's nice to have it noticed. I'm thinking of putting a blinking object in the bottom of it. LMAO |

I think you should, Babs. Let us know the results if you do. |

Actually I think just having the blinking sun glasses there has already worked in my favor with the tip jar. I noticed people tipping last night that don't even sing. Most people who tip see the jar because they sing. Other than that it doesn't get noticed. These glasses are priceless! |

Babs, take a look at my album. (Laurie and Me) Do you notice where the books are? Great big letters, out front and everything, but people still walk by it and ask where the books are. Glasses anyone. |

It's funny isn't it. I have tried so many ways to make my book table noticable. It would drive me nuts when people would ask me for slips etc.... and they usually are standing right next to them. It is just a silly little pet peave of mine. |

I would probably take the glasses home! Those I know they'd steal. |

My books are over an inch thick and the lay on the bar and tables around the room. People never see them. It may not have anything to do with the books... I'm thinking it's a Psychological thing for them... Hey, I'm here, notice me. And as a friendly contact to gage you, maybe. Something to help them relax and get settled in. You know... like when two dogs meet each other... |

I keep my pencils and request slips right in front of my board which is where people have to come talk to me so when they ask where they are I just point down and they always look at me with that "duh am I stupid" expression which I never get tired of LOL |
