Okay, here's the deal. So far I've done pretty good at building a good selection of oldies, classic rock, standards..etc. What I'm falling behind on is country. I'm getting request for Rascal Flatts, Gretchen Wilson, Big & Rich and so forth. Now I have some of that, but I really need more. What can you recommend. I feel comfortable with the Chartbusters as far as country goes and I'm willing to fork out the buck for some Sound Choice if necessary. But what are some good collections of newer various artist disc that are a must have to my collection. Thanks, James Maninblack |

James, You named some of them, unfortunately some of the popular new country is not available as an Artist Series yet.. i.e. Carrie Underwood. You have narrowed in on some of the best new country, IMO, when you mention Chartbuster. Country Karaoke Classics are a good bet for the newer country, as well as some older country and does have single artist discs as well with approx. 17 songs on each disc. Radio Starz has released a Sugarland CDG.. I would suggest Martina McBride, Vince Gill (if they can do Rascal Flatts they should be okay), Keith Urban, Toby Keith, Faith Hill, Dixie Chicks, Blake Shelton... Not all of them will be available on single artist discs. American Karaoke Supply follows some albums like Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson and Faith Hill... Big Country is also good for new country although it is a mix of artists... If I come up with more I'll be sure to post it here, Susie |

I have the chartbuster yearly hits pks for 04 and 05 seemed to be more bang for your buck. You get all the popular songs plus some. I try to stay away from single artist discs because I want more variety. I only buy once a year when those packs are released unless I get a lot of requests for newer stuff. Seems to be working. The only other brand of country disc I like and think is very close to originals besides chartbuster is star disc believe it or not. Good price and decent sound. |

Thank you, thank you, thank you.....and again it looks like I have my homework cut out for me. But that's a good thing, keeps me out of trouble and away from those Japanese Schoolgirl sites... Of all the genres, I would have to say that new country is my weak point. Now I'm pretty good with the classic country, but there's so many cookie cutter country groups coming out now, that's hard for me to keep up with. I guess I need to was CMT or GAG or what ever it is and stay up to date with what's current. Again, thanks so much, this is a huge help. James Maninblack |

james, i'd stay away from the stuff you find on CMT or GAC. every time i turn on either of those, all i see is amatuer hour! they even play bon jovi on CMT nowadays for crying out loud! if you have satellite radio, XM has a channel called X-country and one called americana. both a pretty good. of course there's always hank's place, which is classic country. being in the self proclaimed "live music capitol of the world" austin Texas, i do get to hear alot of stuff beofre it hits the national airwaves. some is good, some is crap. you just have to sift through to see what you and your audience like! if i can ever be of assistance, i'm only a pm away! |

Pop Hits Nashville Edition! That way you get the newest of more artist! They are the most affordable, and sound great. And - You also have some great new music to fill in for bare spots - (hope you don't have any) - but with and without vocals, they are a great investment. Have been updating the systems with them for years. There are some good Sound Choice out there also, but for the money these are the best in my opinion. I don't buy a lot of one particular artist. A waste of money, as only a few of their songs are actually popular enough for my singers to sing. But there are some wise KJ'S on here and I am sure you will get a lot of feedback on what to do. |

I have to agree with Karaoke Kelly about the Chartbuster yearly discs. They offer a very good variety. However, I really prefer the Chartbuster Essential Series 450. Chartbuster advertises it as no repeats of previous issues. In other words, you can buy 1, 2, 3, 4,5, & 6 and have 2700 different songs. Sometimes you might have two versions of same song if song was released by two different artists. Of course the Essential 450 is not just country. Anyway, I digress. Chartbuster Country is best for all your country and sound choice for other music. |
