I know the fourth of July might not be as much fun as Canada day to some but we enjoy it down here. The get togethers, the singing, the fireworks, the food, all makes for a fun day. Some of us like to think about how the founding fathers would view our country today. GiGi and I are going to Phatrat and Isis house to party up a storm and then watch the fireworks fom the convenience of their front yard. What do you like to do on the fourth? |

Our town parade goes through starting at 10:00am every July 4th. The people in the parade throw candy at all the people sitting on the sidelines and refresh us with squirts of water. A group of friends ganged up on me and darn near soaked me, . I'm judging a baby contest in about 1/2 hour--cutest Indpendence Day baby. That's always so much fun. Then we'll BBQ and watch the fireworks tonight. I was asked to sing the Star Spangled Banner again this year for my city, but since I was having a procedure done on my arm so close to the date, I was worried I wouldn't feel up to it so I declined this year. I'll sub it at the SS. Here are some pics from the parade. |

we're gonna hit a little spot over looking the lake for fajitas and ritas with ryan (saturday singer) and his folks (who happen to be our best friends). then it's off to another little out of the way place to watch fireworks from the back of the truck! honestly, and PLEASE don't take this the wrong way, i celebrate Texas independence day more than the 4th of july. just means more to me. |

I won't take it the wrong way myself. My great great grandfather fought in the war for Texas independence
honestly, and PLEASE don't take this the wrong way, i celebrate Texas independence day more than the 4th of july. just means more to me. I know that was for the benefit of others not in Texas. |

Chuck made enough potato salad for an army if anyone else want sto come over to Rich and Sharon's. I know they won't mind. The five of us that I know will be there were all KJs at one time and we will have two batches of disks to sing from (well, ours is all on computer--legally purchased inf anyone cares to know--but still...). Sing, drink, eat and watch fireworks (not the kind that you get in a bar after too many drinks and too much drama). It just doesn't get any better than that. |

I have a special plan that includes you and a room of my choice at Sharon's house. If anyone walks in on us I hope it's not Rich again.

It's raining at our house right now...Hmmm...That sucks..But I checkd the radar and it should be gone soon....So we shouldn't worry about that.. But now we are gonna have to wait for everyone to get here....Charmin and Kappy don't fly so it will take a couple of days for them to drive over so this is liable to be a long party..... |

Old 4th of July tradition, I launch bottle rockets from my butt HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE (oh man, between getting too much sun today, and not sleeping for a few nights, I think I've fried both brain cells) |
