Do you think you come across in public the way you want to or do people sometimes get a wrong impression of who you really are? |

I am super blunt, very open, and act ridiculously foolish. I am who I am, and you can figure that out within 2 minutes of meeting me. (They may not like me, a lot of people can't handle me, but hey, at least they know what to expect:) I have NEVER had a probllems with someone getting the wrong impression of me, AFTER talking to me. However, I can get judged from afar very badly, just by my appearence (i am one big tattoo).... |

I am often mistaken for an a-hole when people see me but don't meet or talk to me. I'm certain it's because I have to try very hard to focus when I'm thinking and end up making faces because of it. When people get the chance to talk to me they usually see what a pushover I really am. |

I don't think people often get a wrong impression of me. I would have never made it in the diplomatic corps but as I've matured I have learned that I can be honest without beating someone over the head (if I can remember) to make a point . I don't like to see women, children or animals mistreated and I don't like bigotry in any form; I have a tendancy to come apart at the seams when that kind of thing happens. Otherwise I'm pretty laid back. I like to have fun and I try not to get in anyone's face if I can help it. So I'm just living my life the best I can and waiting for a beautiful, wealthy, and completely wanton woman to take me away from all of this * gestures at one-room shack with dirt floor, black & white television, 8-track player and closet jammed with leisure suits). I am a bit of a chameleon, so finding the "real" me is tough. I clean up pretty well and can be taken out in public without problems. I reserve my bawdiness for good friend, drunken sprees (few and far between, darn it!) and work. Yes, work. I am in a male-dominated field and the guys don't have to worry about offending me if I am the most offensive person in the room. The shock value is a blast, too. On this site, I hint at my totally warped personality but try to keep it in check. |

Gigi:) Why hint at it? Come out of the closet;) I DO:) But, I hear ya... I spent my life with all male friends... and I am the worst of the lot:) When my husbands friends come over, they try to be tame, until my husband tells them I am worse:) And, THEY are TERRIBLE. |

What you see is what you get, no apologies, no excuses. A diamond in the rough, or a floater in the bowl, I've been compared to both. Now of course when I'm on stage, I put a muzzle on the trash mouth. But in a town of short haired rednecks, a long haired biker tends to stick out. You'll find me drunk at a bar one day, sitting at a city council meeting the next, reading to the kids another day, and doing fund raisers for the senior center the next. Let me sum it up in a song that I wrote in honor of Johnny Cash and my grandfather. As the years have gone by though, I realized it was about me more than the mentors that I mentioned. I am of strong opinion, but that is not my vice, would you rather me be honest, would you rather me be nice, though I am quick to anger, I am just as quick to laugh, but fair warning of the danger, to those who cross my path. In this world full of lies and cliches, would you want me to change myself, change my ways. You tell me that you know me, but you've never walked in my shoes, to judge this book by it's cover, is the prophecy of fools, if you want to walk beside me, then take me as I am, you can love me or leave me, but one thing believe me, at this point I don't give a dayum. In this world full of lies and cliches, would you want me to change myself, change my ways. In my world there is a motto, to thine own self you must be true, and don't ask things of others, that cannot be ask of you, and don't be quick in your judgement, on a person, a stranger to you, cos it weren't long ago, before the hello's, that we were both strangers too. In this world full of lies and cliches, would you want me to change myself, change my ways. Copyright 1996 James H. Gilbert/Laughing Skull Productions |

Have you recoeded it yet? Yes I have, but since Johnny's not around to sing it, it'll just sit on the shelves. |

James, you should do him the honor of singing it for him. That is an incredible piece of poetry. |

Truthfully.... I'm misjudged all the time too. People seem to form the STUPIDEST opinions of what/who they think I really am, and they're usually dead wrong. But one of the things I've learned in life, is..... To just NOT GIVE A SH1T. And I don't. Life's too short to deal with a bunch of dumb A$$es who don't take the time to know you before they jump to a judgement. And where in the HELL is Keith? Who'd a thunk I would have missed his smart aleck self so bad? LOL . |

Is this the real me? Hell yeah! I am an Engineer! Top Reasons never to date an Engineer T-shirt and jeans are their formal dress. Hot dog and a six-pack is their seven-course meal. The only social life known of is to post and talk on the net. Flames like a monster. Works from 6:30am to 7:30pm daily. No morning kisses and no evening walks. No matter how hard you cry and how loud you yell, he just sits there calmly discussing your emotion in terms of mathematical logic. Only listens to classic rock. Hates everything from Bach to Prince. Touches his car more often than you. Talks in acronyms. Will file a divorce if you call him in the middle of debugging. My dad is an engineer and he needs things to be worded in such a way that they make sense to him. It is not the way the rest of think. I have been known to translate for him sometimes although I never really considered myself "engineer friendly". You can't realy talk to him but if you input the data in basic logic he will spit out an answer. What I want to know is if he is an engineer how come he never gets to drive the train? He ain't cryptic, he's my father. |

AtM......... Haha, I've never known an Engineer, not closely anyhow. Most of my family are just...... manual laborers. Dad ran a cattle ranch growing up, my brothers worked in mechanics, concrete, the trucking industry as a welder/fabricator , and one was in the navy. (well, he's an insurance agent these days, so I guess he's an office boy now.... so, one out of 4 aint bad, hahaha) But, Quote: You can't realy talk to him but if you input the data in basic logic he will spit out an answer.
THAT would be hard to live with, IMO. And..... thank you...... for editing. |

I'm a pretty upbeat person, and I think that carries through no matter where I am. I can be very giggly at times, so I am sure people who don't know me have probably thought I was ditsy. I am also not afraid to goof off with my kids, and that has definitely drawn some funny looks from people. I think I project who I am to those around me when I go out in public, because I don't try and hide it. My sense of humour sometimes goes over people's heads maybe because it's slightly twisted. I don't worry too much about first impressions though because they aren't always right and they aren't always wrong, they just are. If someone thinks I'm weird, oh well. It's not enough reason for me to change how I act. In the words of Popeye "I yam what I yam" :D |
