Timberlea... did you watch fireworks in halifax?
I used to go when i was a kid, and watched them from a coast guard ship.
We just got back from the fireworks, with Sky... they were kinda sucky... THEN, we realized that we had parked under a light.
Oh crap. Shadflies. (Mayflies)... crazy little buggers.. walk with your mouth CLOSED. Gagggg.

A leisurely bicycle ride on a warm evening during shadfly season becomes an exercise in breathing with one's mouth closed to avoid an unwanted insect meal. Roadways become hazardous as crawling masses of these night-flyers congregate underneath the brightest street lights forming a slippery film between tire and asphalt.The end of the 2-3 week shadfly emergence is found to be the most obnoxious. The lakes appeal is lost to prospective swimmers looking for relief from the heat as they are faced with the stench of shadfly corpses littering the shore. The saving grace of this winged storm is the lack of biting or sucking mouthparts. Unlike the itch inspiring mosquito and black-fly, the shadfly is only a menace to man because of its emergence in astronomical numbers. )

Basically.. .there are HEAPS of corpses EVERYWHERE... if you stop at a red light, and look at the car next to you, you can't see the car... just shadflies:) Lol, it is absolutely disgusting, and they have the fireworks display at the waterfront, under hundreds of lights.... ick ick ick.
So.. basically, if you can ignore THOSE little suckers.. it isn't so bad:) (Btw, those pics? That wall is COVERED... and pretty much EVERy wall is. If you are driving, it feels like it is raining shadflies, you actually need your wipers on. gag.
