Post subject: | Question on music sources |
I am new to Karaoke and would like to build my song library. When I do a Google search mountains of information is found. My question is are sites such as http://www.freemusicnow.cc/ims/?affID=0001318 http://www.karaokeinfo.com/ good and bonafide sites to subscribe to and download quality titles from? I am trying to speed up my learning curve and minimize costly mistakes. I thought this was the best place to ask this question. Thanks for your replys |

the second link you offered is totally illegal In fact I'm suprised that they have not come down hard on this website for illegal activities before now. It has been around for about a year or so. Just remember if you use this site that when they are shut down for piracy you are on their subscribers list and all download records are visible. Proceed at your own risk I predict that this thread will disappear very soon......Poof |

I predict that this thread will disappear very soon......Poof As in this is not a legimate question, topic, appropriate forum for the question, direct conflict to the forums advertisers??? I appreciate the heads up on the illegal link but frankly if you hadn't told me this I may have subscribed. Thank you! So I guess my next question is are there legimate sites you can subscribe to and build your song library? If searching Google can/could get a person in trouble what authority or links should a person go to for these answers. If I need to wise up to something obvious please point me in that direction. |

Your question was totally legit.....no problem asking for music sources. I was just pointing out that the links you provided are controversial and may meet opposition on this forum as they are of a questionable source. The best sources for music is to purchase CDG's (discs) from reputable dealers such as the ones listed as sponsors of this site. they are listed on the top right corner and on the bottom left corner of this site. Of course there are other places to purchase outside of these vendors. I use the following: www.acekaraoke.com www.soundchoice.com www.karaoke.com I use others as well but these are my main sources. I have never used a download service online as most of them (not all) are illegal. |

I'm with Flipper - I have always bought CDGs and converted them. I would download from a site if it was reputable and good quality. The problem is in my opinion Sound Choice has the best quality and you can't download them unless it is illegal. |

Thanks! That sounds very reasonable. I will check it out. And that would be one the hit songs from 1964 by the The Animals with Eric Burdon. |

from a site if it was reputable and good quality. The problem is in my opinion Sound Choice has the best quality and you can't download them unless it is illegal. Oops. I don't know the leagality of downloading CD+Gs and then trying to prove later that I paid for a legal download of them. |

I thought this was the best place to ask this question. Thanks for your replys First off, if you are using the music for "proffesionl shows" it usualy against the TOS of the website to use the music in a comercial environment. BUt if it is just for personal use it is fine. The other problem is the quality of the donwloaded music. It may of be of the bitrate that you need, to give a good quality sound. It probably would be much easier, and safer to buy the disc and rip it yourself. JMHO |

So it's better to pay by check, and not use a credit card, right ? |

Guy's, I'm thinking of selling some of my library, but I want to ask fair prices. Any suggestions on how much I should ask per CD-G for the following brands ? SC, SGB & Kazaa ? (one more question, should I edit out my stupid posts in here?) Don, Do you folk's still get those "White Van's" in you area selling "Designer" and "High end" stuff at prices you can't refuse ? I have seen one in over 10 years. I wonder if they are finally cracking down on those companies ? |
