Sometimes friendships are started in forums like this. Sometimes those friendships can help people through a rough spot by just being there for each other. Has someone here at KS helped you through a tough time? If so, is it something you can talk about?

Oh heck yeah. Drea for example, who listened to my whole sordid breakup story on msn as it was happening. I love her to bits for listening to me whine  LOL The last month has been a really rough patch for me and Drea's ear has been much appreciated. She and I met through SS and have been friends since. Thanks Drea     Not to mention that Chuck helped me feel welcome here when I was knocking around this stupid house with nothing to do at 11 at night :D    Hugs for you too :D
Oh and Jeff... thanks for ego boost, I needed that right about now :dancin:  Actually I only started really posting here like 3 days ago and everyone has been really nice. Thank you to everyone who listens to my incessant rambling LMAO

Drea is so cool. Jeff seems to be really funny.

For my part, you are quite welcome.

Hehe well I am glad I could help, Chuck. I know what it's like to be down in the dumps, trust me. I left my 10 year marriage on an all time low, and it took 2 months in England away from my ex to heal me. My online friends got me through that tough time, so I know how much it can help to have an ear, even if it is only via text. I was overtired the other night, therefore even goofier than usual, glad it helped.

Yes.  There are several people here who...knowingly and not-so-knowingly...helped me through a hellish time in my life.  And I thank them every day.

There are several people who have helped me here who probably
don't even realise how much I appreciated their wisdom. There
are somethings that happen when you do your job that only people
who do that same job can understand. sometimes just coming here
to vent a bad night is a huge help. Thanks guys

Oh yes. One time in particular was when Charmin, Steven and Alexis leant an ear and offered some good words of wisdom when a close friend of mine died suddenly last March. So thanks to them and several other people over the months.

I've met quite a few wonderful people here. But there is one in particular I met three years ago when I first got here, dumbdrums (Mikey). He's helped me through quite a few rough spots and has become my dearest friend.

I was in a similar situation last November having a cousin that passed. I was on another forum back then. Most of the people who knew about this were extremely helpful. One person took advantage of my weekness at that time. I will never go back to that forum again. I made some bad chices then but I was trying my best to avoid bad choices. I learned that I need to be less naiive, much less.

theres a lot of great stories here..its so wonderful that we get the attention we do here..there are so many pains we go through, that sharing them with people who are not so prejudgemental as people in our real lives really helps us through..sheree and i have discovered a unique special friendship because we met at face value with clean slates to each other..our relationship built on all experiances that we developed together..i would sacrifice anything for my best friend sheree..ive been through hell and back with drugs and losing my father when i was 11..i had always struggled with that pain and hate so much that i put a wall in front of my goals and dreams and wasted a great deal of my life from lack of confidence..sheree makes me feel alive with her spirit..since i have been convinced from her that i am special, i have gotten into the biggest band in my area, started a jingle company, and have gotten into the best shape i have ever been in..and i owe it to her kindness and belief in me..she saw something in me that was dead and buried and she resurected it like a phoenix rising from the ashes..i get choked up when i think about what she did for me..i feel alive today like i have never felt before...thank you sheree..imy convos with the rest of you have also brightened my day...you all are very cool here..its been a long time since ive seen any classic showcase flame threads..it think that speaks volumes for you guys ! Peace

Yeah, quite a few times actually. Sometimes it was asking advice, sometimes I just needed a cyber shoulder to shed my cyber tears on... and at times, someone helped me through something and may not even realize they did.

It's nice to have someone to talk to, and share personal issues with, that IS someone from online, rather than someone you know in person. It's easier to open up, and you're not as afraid of being *judged* about it.

OKay people....update. Thanks so much for giving me somewhere to keep sane the last few days. Tonight my boyfriend and I made up... started with a clean slate. Hopefully this time it will work out much better. Drea, thanks again for all the late nights you spent talking to me and keeping me from bouncing off the walls as all this was happening. I really appreciate it.

And you LOOK terrific too, Mikey... if that is a recent picture.

Yes, I have met some wonderful, caring, intelligent (wise) people here .. who have offered me a lot of support and shoulders to cry on .. on several occasions.  I will always remember so many of you ... for your help and kindness.  THANKS again !
