Did you know that Tracy Lawrence "Paint Me A Birmingham," and numerous other hit country songs was discovered while performing Karaoke? I watched a special on him and record people went to the Karaoke show to watch him perform. He was doing Garth Brooks song, "Friends in Low Places."

Wen I was much younger I wanted to be discovered. Since then I gave-up on that notion. I have my reasons.

Rick Trevino was discovered in the same fashion.  one of his band memebers is in just about every weekend.  a couple of weeks ago he and some buddies were out on the back patio talking.  i sang "just enough rope" just to f*** with him.  in the middle of it, he poked his head inside with a great big grin.  he said i sounded just like rick.....i'll take it as a compliment!

A guy that use to come to our shows got a contract.   I haven't heard about him lately so I don't know where he is now.    The company/promoter that signed him called me a year or two later and asked if I had anyone else they might want to look at.   A father and son KJ teem in the area, the kid got a contract, was on TV a few times.    He's back here now.    So yes it can happen, but few and far between.

RE: Being discovered,
There is always tomorrow. What if I find my voice? What if I develop a pitch that is stunning? Not likely, you just never know.
