I just got the Marantz cdr300 yesterday - I figured out how to record with it last night.  The sound on the recordings is awsome.  I still have a lot  to learn about using it.  It does a lot more than I actually need.

Thanks for the response,

                                     Jackson

Just googled it nice machine.

mine records to a compact flash card and assignes track #'s everytime you start to record another song. once you get all your songs you can master the recordings then select which ones you want to burn to disc.

I take mine to my solo singing show and take the tape outs of my mixer into the line inputs of the Recorder. then I also add two external mic's to record the live audiance sonds as well. the final result is pretty good.

I also take it to some friends Karaoke show's and record the singers and give them the disc with just them singing on it so they can see how much they suck or dont suck.

love my toy

That sounds fantastic.  I've only been singing for about ten months - mostly karaoke on the weekends.  I bought my equipment so that I can practice at home.  To make a long story short, I was offered a deal to sing four nights a week at one of our local restaurants here in Port Isabel.  So now I'm singing solo at Pirates Landing.  Heck, I'm astonished that anyone would want to listen to me sing much less pay me for it.  I made my first practice recording today - I haven't really learned how to use the machine right yet.  Plus I live in a condo here and every time I sing above a whisper the people upstairs calls the police.

I'd like to upload my first one her but haven't quite figured how what format and how to do the actual upload.

Once again thanks for the come back,

                                  Jackson

Maybe, just maybe, you forgot to get the mp3 to fit your upload quota. Its 3mb or less if you are a non paying member.

I finally got my songs uploaded - the Morantz also cost $700.  Not cheap, but I'm had a lot of fun playing with it.  Your System sounds great.  Heck the Morantz makes me sound better than I really am.  The last song I uploaded was recorded after I sang four hours in the heat.  It's not great but the Morantz pulled me out.

My gigs are four hour each, so for right now I'm fighting to add songs to sing.  I spend a lot of time listening to Napster finding songs that I want to learn.  Big problem is finding the cdg after I find the song.  But for the most part everythings ok.  I sing all the old songs, mainly because this is tourist city and my job is to entertain the winter texans and summer visitors.
