Well I use an outboard effect processor for delay in conjunction with the internal reverb to get a layered effect for different songs. The internal reverb setting I generally use is the med or large plate. Spring for older 50's 60's tunes Chorus, flange or phaser for some current rock. But primarily the plate verbs for most songs. But play with them, you'll get some fun ones that you'll be able to use with certain songs for sure. |

Congrats Robdog! I personally feel it is one of the best all around mixers. And as Lonman said, play around with it. You'll find different effects work better at times depending on the venue. Kelly |

wow ...did a google search and founs the mackie CFX12.mkll and saw a price of $1495.00 then saw it was in Austrailia Musicians friend has it for $499.00 that much of a difference huh? ( in sound ) Might have to sell my berringher and go mackie. Thanks |

the dfx series doesn't allow for the adjustment of the midrange like the cfx series does. Yeah... it can! |

Aside from the new panel graphics and coloured knobs the Mk II is the same internally as the original CFX12 (Mackies own words). I just picked an original CFX12 up from Ebay for £143 with a flightcase (about US$230). I've had a DFX6 and DFX12 and a load of Behringers, the last one being a Xenyx 1832FX (nice full featured mixer). I have to confess to likeing the mellower sound of the Mackies though. Bottom line is go for a MK1 CFX mixer for a much lower cost than the MKII coz they sound the same anyway. If I had bit the bullet in the beginning then maybe I wouldn't have spend so much time, energy and money looking for the ultimate small, versatile and sweet sounding mixer. Still I got there in the end (well maybe  )

Yes alot of the Mackie line are made in China - as with MOST of the lower priced equipment from ANY manufacturer these days. Each manufacturer still have their own design & performance specs to work up to. The CFX line isn't exactly a low end board - grant you, it isn't their greatest either, but still blows much of the competition away sound wise, the DFX would be the lowest on the Mackie line. |

If I had a choice between a flat board & box type board, I would actually opt for the flat Yamaha - however Mackie doesn't make a flat powered board yet to really compare to. I personally don't care for box type mixers. |
