I have 200 bucks to pump into some disks, What I have currently are sgb (sucks bad), and Dangerous paks. I am wanting something that will have good quality, and something I can get with many songs. I am really looking for 80-90's mostly. Any help on what to purchase please let me know. I would also be interested in used items as well! Thank you! |

I would go supercore for the amount you ar able to pay. MOst of the songs are Amerising and have a lot of 80's and 90's on it with some modern stuff thrown in. |

Supercore also includes the KJTools 10 disc set which are very good discs. So for $200 they are the best bang for the buck. It includes oldies, country, rock, and as stated before recent songs. Not bad for an eighteen disc set for under $100, you can't go wrong. |

the OLDER supercore set had a lot of country hits monthly and pop hits monthly stuff. Also, the Top Hits Monthly has a sixpack set that you get the monthly releases for about $50, and they throw in two misc discs per month. I've filled in a LOT of holes in my system by getting the Artist series (platinum and platinum plus), etc... Granted, they're NOT Sound Choice. Liquiddye has it right... the very best, and the mortar set allows you to get 12 spotlights for the $200! I also like the all hits, backstage, etc for filling in holes. But to start a collection off right, my recommendation is to get the better ones such as SC's foundation, bricks, etc. |

Supercore is more like Pop Hits monthly in look (actually they are made mostly by the makers of Pop HIts Today). Better quality than SGB in my opinion. Includes Radio Starz songs as well as Country Hts today and country hits list tracks. |

Zoom Karaoke also has a lot of great selections with 80's themes for $17.99 to $19.99 a disk. |

I will check into the supercore. Such tough decisions. Is there a place where I can join a club and they send me a disk once a month like the cd clubs? That would really be a great idea! |

I agree with the Sound Choice Mortar - this way you aren't locked into a specific set & can get songs that you may want more. |

Hi folks, while being new to this site I still thought I'd pass along some good info that I found. I went to the to KaraokeSurplus site and noticed that they were selling the CB Essential paks for 199.99, of which the Chartbuster site themselves have them listed for 249.99. Chartbuster verified the Surplus price and was more than willing to match it. I'm not sure how many of you actually use the CB series, but I thought this was a heck of deal just the same. I currently have two Essential books and in my newbie impression have found them to be kinda hit an miss. How do these compare to the Soundcore series, or other companies which a person would choose from when building a basic catalog? Thanks, James Maninblack |

Thanks, James Maninblack Yeah Chartbuster kind of reeks on pop/rock which I am willing to bet most of your 'misses' are, they are great for country most of the time. Sound Choice Foundations & Bricks are a much better 'core' as far as quality. More hits, less misses. But then you'll be paying more for them as well - worth it IMO. |

If I didn't already have the foundations and the bricks I would more likely go for the essentials as I would have a better selection in terms of number of songs than both foundations and the bricks combined. Again just my opinion. |

All I know is given the choice, I would pay the extra for the quality sound overall (less misses) over something that's sometimes passable. Don't get me wrong I think their country is pretty much in the top manufacturers, but if I have a choice over a $18 Chartbuster or a $22 Sound Choice for pop/rock, I would pick the SC everytime. I have made the mistake before on a couple of CB pop discs & had to replace mostly every song. |

So does supercore compare to these at all? Overall quantity vs slightly lower quality? Or is it night and day difference. Like I said, I fell the dangerous cdg to be nice, sgb pretty much sucks. Thanks again. |

Supercore is better than Sweet Georgia Brown (almost ANYTHING is better than SGB) but overall it really isn't all that great either. I totally agree with lyquiddye - spend the $200 and buy a Sound Choice Mortar (12 Spotlight discs of your choice). Quality is the way to go, not quanity. Karaoke is like everything else - you get what you pay for. |

Thanks guys I appreciate it a ton! I will be getting the mortar set. This is good for me because it will allow me to buy what I want instead of disks that have 1 song I want. |
