Hello everyone....I just want to apologize for not posting anymore songs since my first song. I was going to sub one about a week ago and my computer crashed. since then, I haven't been able to record anything. I record through my inboard sound card. I can record on my software but, after I play it back, I can't hear the playback. Do you think when my computer crashed, the sound card blew? I don't know and would appreciate any advice anyone can give. Thanks everyone and I hope to be subbing again soon. Kim

Maybe you need to reinstall your audio driver?

A hd crush will not blow you soundcard. You said you can still record, an't you not recording with your soundcard?
Do you still hear sound when you play your other mp3 songs or cd through your pc?

I know that with my dell whenever I have had to format my hard drive and reinstall windows, there was another disk that I had to use to manually install the audio driver.  Just a thought...

The other way to see if your soundcard functions is as follows:
Start » Settings » Control Panel » Sounds and Audio Devices
Under the Audio tab, see if you have a Default Device selected for Sound Playback  (top), if so, click on the volume button, and set the volume there.
If no device is selected, you'll have to see if anything is available under the pull-down menu (under Sound Playback Default Device). Select if available, else you have no Sound Playback Device installed on your system.

depending on your software for your computer's operating system, go to your "my computer", anc click on MANAGE (for XP, you can access it with START -> Control Panel -> System -> (click on the HARDWARE tab, and then the "Device Manager" icon.))

Anything that has a yellow question mark may not be operating correctly.

See if your onboard audio is working... Frank is right, you may need to reinstall your audio drivers (and maybe others as well).
