I liked to sing Karaoke and received an inexpenisve karaoke machine for x-mas. Have purchased several karoake cd's but am getting tired of having to put them in the machine. So I want to use my PC as a karoake machine.

I copied my cd's into my pc as mp3's with corresponding cdg files. Downloaded KaraFun and it all works. Much nicer. Now I want to have a few friends over and want to beef things up.

1. How do you hook the PC to your TV? I have a fairly new PC but no output for a TV. Do I need a special video card for my PC that will send the signal to my monitor and to my TV? Is that an S-Video card?

2. How do I get two microphones to work? My PC supports only 1 mic in. Do I hook my PC into an amplifier and also hook my karoake machine to the same amplifier in some sort of Y connector? PC on 1 side of the Y and the karoake machine into the other side of the Y and then plug into the amp?

3. What kinda of software should I use on my PC? It would be nice to have a software program that lets you make a playlist and put the persons name next to the song that is coming up. Is that available at not too much of a cost?

Budget is small. Home use only. Any suggestions for this total newbie would be greatly appreciated.

does your karaoke machine have an aux in. just hook it up into your karaoke machine.
For $0 you should go with autoKDJ as it totally interfaces with winamp and actually does what I suggested for Club Dj. substitutes the singer's name for the artist name in the playlist. You can get it from winamp's site.

Thank you so much. Yes my karaoke machine has an input side as well as an output side. That will work well for the audio.

How do I get the video from my PC to the karaoke machine now?

Downloaded winamp and autoKDJ. Looks like that is going to work well also. Thank you again. I am a bit overwhelmed by winamp. I can't seem to get songs from the mp3 playlist to the karoake view list but I will work on it. I am sure there are some posts here to help.

Again, thanks. Sure is alot easier than I thought it would be.
