Hi all,

New here to the forum. I know this is primarily a forum for KJ's and this post is not KJ related but I'd thought I'd try.

I'm opening a karaoke box club with 5 sound proof private rooms (4 seating up to 8 people and 1 seating up to 12). I've got the players connected to a central server package already imported from China. As for audio, I can get a good deal on a Vocopro DA-9800 digital mixing amp and a pair of SV-500 speakers and a SU-200 subwoofer. I know this is not a VP friendly site but private rooms are not the same as bigger open spaces such as bars so perhaps the VP products would suit better to the private room concept as it is more closer to home karaoke use (of course the difference being that the equipment will be used nightly for hours on end). In any case, any feedback on the above products would be greatly appreciated.

As for wireless mics, Shure SM58s are the standard but any other tips?

I have no problem ripping VCDs to the hard drive of the server but any tips on DVD ripping software and CDG ripping software?

Thanks for any input

There are two or three free programs out there for the cdg, Audiograbber and KJrip N Zip and mp3+GToolZ.  all will rip to MP3+G, KJRIP N ZIP will merge the cdg and mp3 files into one zip file.   Audiograbber either requres you to type in the info or use freeDB for naming the file.   KJRIP N ZIP uses either it's own built in database,  KJPro's Database or you can type in the info if the databases don't have the disc in it.  this is a personal preference of mine, others may not feel the same way as each has their prefences. I would rather use a program I don't have be hooked up to the internet to use. Both MP3+GToolz and Audiograbber needs the internet to name their files. KJrip uses databases that are already on the computer.
There is another software thatisn't freeware out there that will also do the job for those who still think that if it costs more it must be better- Elite tools from tricerisoft.
it does everything that KJrip N ZIp does but to get the database updated you have to pay for a subsciption. Again I am only writing my personal opinion here.
KJrip n zip : www.kjamp.com
Audiograbber: www.audiograbber.com
elite tools: www.tricerasoft.com
Mp3gToolz: www.activeaspsoftware.net/default.aspx?p=downloads

Out of the other three, only MP3+G ToolZ will deal with songs already imported.
There is another choice out there from KJamp that will allow you to save money on songs.   www.KJamp.com has software to convert SCDG to MP3+g Zipped.
You can get the Chartbuster essentials sets on EBay for about $75.
