I'm sure this has come up before, but I have to ask again because I am having trouble accessing past posts.  I gotten a link.USB Tapco  and I am using the software that came with it, Traction. I really like both but unfortunately I did not know much about recording when I purchased them. I want to get some echo into my vocal recording and I don't know if the program is supposed to be able to do this(which mine doesn't)  or the link (which mine doesn't)? When I brought the link the guy said that the mixer was in the program and I do find a lot of things I can do but it does not offer an echo.  Maybe I should have gone with a regular mixer but I don't know if they are supposed to add echo.  Can anyone help me? Since I have already bought the link and the program is there something else that I can get that will help me get some echo in my voice.

If you are talking about Mackie Traction, then it does have a very good vst plug-in efx. your 'echo' is in there. You just need to learn where it is.
Even free recording software like AAudacity have some plug in efx.

To add effects to a specific track, click & drag the "New Filter" to the track you want to effect.  If you want it on the entire track, then place it in the gray section at the end.  It will then give a drop down menu in which you pick the effect to add.  You can add multiple effects - say compression, delay (echo), reverb, eq, all to one track.  If you want to put an effect on the overall mix, click & drag the new filter to the bottom right under the play controls.
This program has some very good quality effects built in & are endless provided your CPU can handle it.
