Ky whilst we're in for a few sewing sheets and re-rigging here is a few questions for you laddy bucks. We are looking to get a new system but here are the environs of a fishin boat. We shrimp in waters in the tropics so it is not uncommon to see 120 degree temps with summer coming on. Also aboard a boat everything is subject to vibrations and saltwater humidity. Our amps are subject to an occasional splashing of bacardi rum. Also such things as dirty fuel lines cause mg sets to vary in voltage from 90-140 volts convenience power (power surges). So as you can tell we need steady rock solid equipment. What are your recommendations as far as amp and speakers. WE can use the nav comp for doing the show if it will navigate and play mp3's at the same time.

A few side glyphics. South of the equator do we need to reverse the polarity on the speakers? And all you greenpeace types I dont need your opinion on whether we are legal or not. (shark bait!!) Sand might be a factor when we are on the beach. Lilly just got back so bye for now......

wow that's some tough conditions for karaoke and sound equipment.

Am I reading correctly that you would use the navigational computer to play your karaoke music?

If so it seems like a valuable piece of equipment to be using for that purpose.

If you have power surges I would not recommend doing it with a computer. Perhaps a good player would be a better choice.

I agree with Flipper on this one.  Wouldn't want to risk my computer, however waterproofed, to those conditions.

Hey, get the most powerfull but cheap amp to drive the speakers (also cheap one). You need to go beyound the sound of the engine and well above the wave, man.
