I have been a member of this site for a while now but am having trouble figuring out how to record songs and submit them to the showcase. Can someone tell me step by step what equipment and software programs I need (I have some karaoke equipment already) and exact steps to record and submit?

you need to go to the singers forum. There are some good posts there about recording. There is one about using Cool Edit Pro for recording that is an execellent thread.

check out all of the links in the posts as there is a wealth of information there.
