| An underrated American singing legend passed away today at the age of 65, peacefully in Wales, Gene Pitney.. His hits from the early 60's included: Only Love Can Break a Heart, It Hurts to Be in Love, Town Without Pity, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, among them.. He wrote the song Hello Mary Lou, made famous by Ricky Nelson and He's a Rebel by the Crystals...He had an original, magnificent voice.. Rest in Peace Gene | |

| 65 is young Quote: "We don't have a cause of death at the moment but looks like it was a very peaceful passing," said Pitney's tour manager, James Kelly. "He was found fully clothed, on his back, as if he had gone for a lie down. It looks as if there was no pain whatsoever." <note to self,  when taking a nap, lay on stomach from now on> See Don, This is what I was saying to you.. Of course this beats going thru pain. Yet it also makes me think twice before going to sleep... Control issue I suppose, yet I don't wanna go !! I'm not ready !! This type thing sort've freaks me out...Seemingly healthy one moment... no longer in the world the next :? | |
