Post subject:  New help purchasing cables to work with pa system amp and wireless microphones

I realize you guys frown on wireless microphones, especially VHF.
I recently purchased a SoundTech S20 pa system but I haven't received it yet.
I would like to purchase the Audio2000 AWM6112 VHF Dual Wireless Mic System.
I thought that I would need xlr male to xlr female cables to connect the wireless microphones to the SoundTech amp.

Here is a picture of the SoundTech amp.

I sent an email to karaoke.com and this is the response.
Can someone please elaborate? (please explain it to me like I'm two!)

"As long as your PA system has 1/4 inch microphone inputs then it should
come with the cable the you need (it comes standard with a 1/4 inch to
1/4 inch cable to go from the receiver to the mic input).  If you have
any further questions please feel free to email us back.  Thank you."

Looking at the pictures on various websites, the SoundTech S20 comes with a microphone with a xlr connector (I think) and two speaker cables.
I haven't purchase the Audio2000 wireless microphones yet.
I would like to purchase any necessary cables from karaoke.com if possible.
Oh yeah, I sent an email to Audio2000 but never got a response.

Also, since SoundTech stated this in the S20 manual, it scares me to use the 1/4 microphone ports because of the following statement:
"Microphone Input (XLR, Balanced) it says all microphone inputs have a phantom power of +15V for condens or microphones. Therefore, do not connect any unbalanced dynamic mic as they may be damaged"

Thx!

If the wireless reciever only has 1/4" outputs, you can get a 1/4" to XLR male cord & all should be good.  If it also has XLR outputs, you'd just need to get any standard mic cord - XLR female to XLR male.  The 1/4" 'mic' inputs (on the front) aren't for mics btw.  These are line level inputs for the players.

Your mixer mic inputs are XLR, the wireless receiver has XLR outputs, use standard XLR-XLR cords.  Better sound quality & a little better gain response.

edit - oh you changed the last question.....

After you answered my question, I just removed the 2nd thread.  I'll go back and put it back.
