ok all.... this has been mentioned in another thread..... here's an idea:

We've been talking about what other people would sound like when they TALK (y'know.... accents and all) so... I thought we'd play a bit of a guessing game. Whoever wants to play can send me a clip of you saying a few words.... a quick 'hello' or whatever you want to say in your normal voice.... make it a complete sentence so we have something to work with, but don't say your name or where you're from though cuz that would give it away (we gotta figure it out by the accent).

SO... C'mon people send me your clips IN A PRIVATE MESSAGE... (you can use a yousendit link) and I'll post them and we gotta guess who it is!

name your file "talkyvoice_yournamehere" so that I know who you are....and then I'll change the file name when I post them so it's anonymous!

Who's up for it?

LOL...this sounds like it should be the "look at where I'm from and stereotype me" thread.

I'll play along a little...

I think Crystal sounds something like this:

"Love this karaoke forum, eh? I don't know what it is aboooot it that I like, but it certainly isn't that hoser TopherM. Or maybe that is the reason I keep coming back for more...I think TopherM and I should meet sometime in a nice small town on the Rock during a chinook and have a two-four or two. I'll jump on the Hogtown Basketweave in the morning and by midnight we'll be see'in the gov'ner. What a chookie time, eh? I'd be TopherM's puck, with oat a doat!"

You know I'm just kidding...but canadian slang is so much fun! Two of my best friends down here in FL are hockey players from Newfoundland and Windsor, Ontario, so I get to hear it all the time!

This is a cute idea - I'm not going to be able to do it until I have more
time though. After April 17th or a little later. I work in a tax office and am so
flippin short on time.

LMFAO!! ok.... I dunno what a two-four is..... but I DO know what a two-six is. As for the rock.... most of my family is from there, but not me!! I was born out west in Alberta. and I can HONESTLY say, I've never known ANYONE who actually uses the term "hoser" though it does crack me up! HAHA!

yah... half that stuff you said I don't even get... LOL! "oat a doat?" HUH? Chookie? basketweave? and "gov'ner" sounds more british to me.... never heard that one before either! haha!

OMG, girl, you're really gonna carry this through? Cool. Ya got any clips yet?

I gotta stay tuned in for this...

So, what do ya want us to say, and for how long? (are ya wanting to continue our phone sex conversation??... that might get us in trouble if we post it here hun)  :shock:

Hahaha

Seriously, people may kinda.... *not know what to say* in the recording. ( I for one, would be like..... "dur, dur, dur")  You should write a little script..... post it here.... and have everyone say the same thing. That would actually make it even tougher to guess who they were.  Just a thawt.

If I even can make myself do it..... I'm gonna de-skies my voice a bit, LoL. What a dork.  LOL

Kewl, I'll got check out your gallery real quick before I jump off of here.

It's hard sometimes sizing them..... mine, even though I size them under the 600 pix H x 800 pix W...... I have to lower the resolution as well when saving them, or I get the "file is too large or corupted" message.  :roll:  I mean, most pics of me ARE corrupted in one way or another, this board is just SO sensitive about that kinda thing.  LOL

Let me whip out my English to Canadian dictionary and translate for you:

"Love this karaoke forum, eh? I don't know what it is aboooot it that I like, but it certainly isn't that hoser TopherM. eh = huh
aboooot = about
hoser = something like a**munch
The Rock = Newfoundland
chinook = Some sort of bad winter weather system that makes it REALLY sh**ty in one part of Canada and REALLY nice everywhere else
two-four = a case of canadian beer like Molson or Labatts
Hogtown = Toronto
Basketweave Highway 401 out of Toronto
See'in the gov'ner = drunk on rum
chookie = crazy
puck = a hockey player's girlfriend
with oat a doat = without a doubt!!

thanks for the Canadian lesson!!

BUT a chinook is actually a warm wind during the winter..... it melts all the snow and makes it feel like spring for a day or two! As Diana.... she lives in Calgary... they get lots of Chinooks!
