...I just filled out my Yahoo profile on their personals site...And Yeah, I told the truth about me....check me out...I'm Keith in Dry Prong, Louisiana...I even included pics. I saw a gal on Yahoo who lived nearby that I wanted to meet, but first I had to pay money and fill out a long profile before I could send her an email....So I did and it's sent. Was that a dumb thang to do? She's got long dark red hair and huge gazongas, and she looks/sounds like the kinda woman I want to meet...But if she isn't, at least she has huge gazongas and long dark red hair. Anyone here tried internet dating?

Nope not me...However my ex husband met his wife of 7 years on the interent and they seem to be happy.... My cousin met his current wife about 10 years ago on the internet and they are very happy together... It must work..I think if nothing else you get more of a selection because it is a world wide web..... Good luck!!!

Yep...with mixed results...I met the crazy ex through yahoo...it was GREAT at first...but...WHEW!! Had a couple other internet "connections" too...mostly long-distance...NOT FUN there, either!!

I dated a guy online... he was jewish and I'm catholic so we basically just spent our time debating religion seeing as he also lived in New York and I live in Cali. He came to visit for a week once, and then like 6 mos. later we were done. It was fun while it lasted! I think the whole not having to be around them all day long aspect was the nicest part! -Amanda

That's great Twansenne. I like hearing when things DO work ! There are more and more cases of internet dating working as time goes on.. A whole new type of "real" "dating" even "sex" now exists that never existed prior to the internet. Never thought that sex would get to a point where two couples were involved in two beds.. Couple 1: Guy and computer Couple 2: Girl* and computer *Other variations exist yet I don't want to hear about these !

I met My current girlfriend thru an online dating site. we've been seeing eachother for almost three years. (Pic's of her in my Photo album) we have split up twice but seem to miss eachother too much after a few weeks. She's a great woman and lives 2 hours away. I have had two stalkers and another phsyco (sp) chick after me. It can be very dangerous. I still have a Stalker showing up at my show's. some sites dont take your pic off the profile even tho you cancel your acount. I still have some scattered pic's all over the net...... During my swinging Days I met alot of nice girls on some of the sites. so it's hard to tell someone it's ok or not ok to put a profile online, however, like I mentioned it can be very dangerous for men as well as women. I read in a recent US Today story that they polled 15,000 married couples and 38% met at work, 29% met through a mutual friend, and only 4% met on online dating sites. So, there may only be a 4% chance you'll meet the girl of your dreams on a personals site, but that's better than the 0% chance you have sitting on your a** in front of the TV! I have personally been on 3 dates that came from internet dating sites, all three of which were first and only dates, so I can't attest to any success. But the way I figure it, spending $20 a month to get hooked up on a date now and then can't hurt. I also read a story that Yahoo is being sued for putting dummy profiles on their site to fill it out. In the state they were being sued in (I think it was MI), it was something like 20% of the profiles had been put up by the site admins and were not real people, but they just wanted to make sure the site LOOKED like it was bustling. If you mailed these dummy profiles, a bot program sent a random automated response. SO, there may be a 1 in 5 chance or more that the chick you are talking to on Yahoo personals is just a bot program!! That case was still pending last I heard, but I'll try to find a follow-up. All in all, internet dating is just like regular dating...pretty difficult!!

Yeah I've heard of dating sites sending actors on dates with people just so they won't stop paying dues. I heard it on WLS radio station here in Chicago. My mother sent me an e-mail to this pet site said I should join to meet others who have cats like mine. The site advertised that you could meet people with the same pet interest. So I put my info in, but didn't join, thank goodness. I started getting e-mails from lesbians. Hello I like men! It turns out it is mostly a gay hook up place. I about killed my mother!

I met my current wife on yahoo personals. We have been together 7 years, and married 5. I am an engineer, and didnt have time to go out drinking and partying just to find a little companionship. We met 1 week moved in together 3 weeks later, and the rest is history. All in all I would have to say the internet dating Scene is pretty well what you want out of it. I had a few first dates, that all the ladies wanted was to have an "Instant relationship" with no strings. ........... It was fun for a while.
