Yep do a search from the manus.  Most of them already pulled them or aren't listing them in a search.  Garth has pulled all rights to karaoke.

I agree.  What a buttmonster.  Can he do that?  If so, looks like he'll be on the "Wal-Mart" Karaoke labels...

Anyone seen a news article on this?

looks like the Mfgs did not pay for the rights to the songs.

Eagles did a similar thing a few years back

Nothing.  As long as your clubs are paying their publishers fees.  It just means that the manus can't manufacture or distribute anything of GB anymore.

no, they CHANGED their stance. It's not an issue of piracy, but of control.

Kind of like someone making a CD..you buy it..then they decide...nope...you can't have it anymore...return it.

Why is that the entertainment business gets away with this. You can re sell your car...your home...your clothes...your electronics...your furniture....but...you cannot do what you like with the music or movies you BUY.
Basically...we don't own them...even though we paid for it...we don't OWN it...we are renting for life. Nice....

If you ask me there is way too much politics in music today, UGH If only John were alive to see this LoL.  Bet he'd never go ape over a Beatles CDG.  Granted I understand you don't want to lose money on your "art" (depending on the vocalist) hee hee but really you are gonna piss off your fan base and not make ANYTHING the way this is going, Garth is on my sh*t list :)

John probably wouldn't have cared one way or another.  Actually, he'd probably be saying, "why are you wasting your time trying to sing my songs and sound like me?  You should be trying to write your own bloody songs!"  LOL   :)

That is Don Henley's stance on karaoke, he don't feel that anyone should be doing songs that he wrote which is why he don't license for karaoke!

And as the copyright holder, that is their right whether we like it or not.  I don't think John ever refused a royalty cheque.

GB can eat my crusty shorts....I never did like the man-Garth Brooks....He is a greedy phony and always has been....There is something very wrong with a person who doesn't appreciate the public singing his songs unless he gets paid everytime...That someone has fallen into the greed trap that the various licensing groups bait for their own gain.

As far as the music I buy...once I pay for it, i'll do any danged thang I want with it...If they wanna play games with me, I'll post it free for anyone else....I don't consider that I RENT anything once I escort it thru the cash register and pay for it.....The music and movie industry better get a clue about how the public views ownership before the public beats it into their heads....I haven't bought a CD or DVD in years because of their greed.

It's EXACTLY the same thing with computer software...you buy the license to install and use the program, not the program itself
