Post subject:  So...How was everyone's St. Patty's Day?

I was at work, but it didn't stop me from partying. :newlol:
I decided to venture out from my hotel to a different karaoke gig. It was the same kj, just a different club. I liked it!
This place was in the boonies man. :newlol: You'll be driving down a state route, see a big sign, turn onto a road that looks to go nowhere except into nowhere, top a small hill, and over the hill, there it is, a huge neon sign lit night club...reminded me of the movie "Porky's". :newlol:
I walk in looking like Johnny Cash...all blacked out, wearing some green beads with a shamrock attached, and all of these redneck looking characters start staring me down like WTF?? :newlol:
This place was cool though. The only form of lighting inside was all of the neon beer signs on the wall spanning the total perimeter of the place. The bar was a big square walk-around deal towards the rear, with seating and tables toward the front, and a few pool tables to one side in the front. The karaoke show was situated in the front corner.
Now granted, I felt uneasy about this place at first, I loosened up after a bit because my usual kj was there, and also a bunch of regulars from the other place where I do my only karaoke....I felt like a kj groupy. :newlol:
But what was cool about it was that the kj's regulars showed up to support her show....good advertising.
This seemed like a mostly country music venue, but I intervened and rocked the house. :newlol: I just did my regular stuff....pretty tame. I started with the Bruce Springsteen, "Dancing In The Dark", then a couple Pearl Jam songs..."Better Man", and "Yellow Ledbetter". When I went back to the bar for another beer, some older country lady praised me on my performance, so I guess I'm not too far out there.
Oh, and I didn't drink and drive. One of the regulars from the other joint was nice enough to drive me to and from the venue......my only friends are 400 miles from home. :newlol:
I didn't have any green beer, but I had a helluva good time.

So, who's got the stories? Feel free to indulge me.

Mine was cool. Karaoke with a fun crowd, NO I didn't drink any of that horrible looking green beer, I stuck with bottles. And I stayed pretty much sober, how boring am I? No good stories here. (well, I have a few from the motel I stayed at, but nah..... better not go sharing those online)

But it was my first time out to karaoke for a while, so I had lots a fun.

Well here in Canby, the highlight was an appearance by the Great One, I'm talking about Mizzy not Jackie Gleason.  Hopefully this is the beginning of her big 2006 comeback tour.  She graced us with several dy-no-mite songs before hopping into the limo and going back to her mansion on the hill.  LOL  It was truly a magnificent performance!   :)

Singing, beer drinking, and general carousing...normal night for me...except I was wearing green...no, wait, that's normal too...hmmm...OK, the KJ had on a silly hat... LMAO

That's ironic...I'm not eligible for my 2nd week of vacation until the 10th of June.  :(

Hahaha, Don, NOW who's looking for brownie points?  LOL  I just couldn't hold out any longer, I was starting to sing in my sleep for lack of getting to go out. And that was driving Lonnie crazy.... I told him a trip to Denny's would cure it.

Yeah.... and that old red Bronco SURE could be mistaken for a Limo, they're practically identical. (and last time I looked I live in an old farmhouse in the field, haha, not a mansion on the hill) YET anyhow, lol. I'm working on that mansion.  :dancin:

it was a day. I worked, went home, went to bed, and back to work the next day. 12 hour days are a biyatch however the trade off is I do get a day or more off than most of the 40hr per week folks...

well, until I leave at the end of this month! LMAO!!

THAT's going to take a lot to get used to... been at this job for nearly 11 years!

Where you leaving to Matt? Are you just switching jobs or are you moving out of state? I recall before you said something about moving back east??

Guess I couldn't really blame you if you want to leave Oregon, many people love it here, but I'm so sick of this area that I could  :puke: .

*Charmin is leaving in a limo to her mansion on the hill
