Post subject:  Help-RSQ Karaoke Player

My RSQ-222 finally went last Friday.  I had a backup on hand (no key changes), so I was able to get by.  Anyway, I called karaoke warehouse, and they told me that model is no longer available.  I want to stick with something like it.  I saw the RSQ NEO-E500 DVD/CD+G Player and the RSQ NEO-C320 Slimline DVD/CD+G Player.  I like single trays (keeping it simple).  Does anyone know anything about these models?  Are they the replacements for the 222?  I can't find the RSQ manufacturer's web site, so I am not sure.  Thanks in advance.

If you want the same player, they are still available new on E-bay. As I understand it, RSQ and JVC are getting out of the karaoke business, so what you see may be all that is left.

Yeah that's what they say, i'd like to hear longevity/reliability reviews from actual users.  JVC used to make the single & trip tray, they don't make this new model.

I went ahead and purchased that unit.  Yeah, my RSQ-222 all of the sudden was starting to read incorrectly...probably too many smokey bars and too much banging around.  I maintained it pretty well, other than that.  I might get it repaired to use as a backup.

This just makes me want to look seriously as karaoke on the laptop and portable hard drive.

Oh, and another semi-related thing...I will never get a custom CDG again.  Man, do they wear out quickly...and Sound Choice doesn't replace those for free.

One thing I noticed about the custom cd's that were burned to black discs is that they don't read as good in the JVC/RSQ units.  I always have to run those in my Pioneer & they play fine while they skip in my JVC.

First thing I do with a custom is rip it to computer so that I have the files archived! CDRs ARE more vulnerable than a regular pressed cd or cdg!

As for the NEO? I've heard a few negative things...

I'm glad I went to computer... no more obsolte for me! LOL!

Yeah, a computer is my next thing.  I was actually in the planning process for that.  Unfortunately, I needed something for this week.
