| Post subject: | Using PC/Laptop for your karaoke show? How to record singers? |
I would like to be able to record my singer's performance. Can I just use a software program like total recorder or something and plug directly into the mic input to the mixer out or something? Please let me know what ya'll are doing. I would like to be able to make a burned CD on the spot for people as well. Thanks, D.J. |

depends on how you're mixing your music! I run my music from the computer to a mixer, to a mixer/amp. That amp has a pre-out, and that includes the mics... total speaker sound. From that I can pull back into the computer. I'd recommend the USB Soundblaster MP3+ device over the "mic in". The USB Numark mixer also has a usb back out to the computer I'm going to experiment with this weekend on recording singers. |

An easy way to record your customers is with a DVD recorder with built in hard drive there are a lot available. You just set it up with the tape out rca plugs on your board and record live from your mixer and burn them a dvd audio copy if they want 1. Simple. |

you can't rip a disk with that on the spot but it is a great little machine! |

Most karaoke software will record your singer's performance. Use tape out on your mixer into line in on the sound card and you're good to go. |

Only karaoke prog I know have that has its own recording is RoxBox and Sack-onuts. If any have added it it has been because Of RoxBox offering it. If you're cd based it only menas carrying your computer or having a cd recorder as an extra piece of equipment. |
