Have you handed out custom audio CDs of your customers singing using your laptop? If so what software did you use to accomplish this? |

Would there not be legal issues with doing that? |

This is for home use. I guess I'll stick with a camcorder. Wouldn't you still have the same issues recording someone singing with a camcorder? |

I have used various methods but the way we do it now is with roxbox a check in the record box automatically records which ever record input you have into a wav file.. I have 3 options mixer out with full fx vocals out of the 266xl and music before it leaves the computer vocals only to be mixed later with the music tracks and fx'd and mastered I no longer burn at shows because it is a hit or miss type situation for cd's that will play on home units etc.. and sound halfway decent. And I dont charge them for it... There is no legal issue unless they are using these recordings in a commercial sense like trying to get a recording contract. As far as the visual recordings if they are broadcast or used in any way they need your permission to do so...They are your personal creations. |

I use Sacks-O-Nuts for that. As to whether it's legal or not. It seems to be allowed under the fair use provision of US copyright law as long as the recording is used for purposes of instruction such as showing the singer how they sound. I wouldn't be legal just to hand them a copy of the karaoke track, I don't think. |

I can record their vocal only at a live show and supply them with a wav file on cd or on a flash drive. With certain software they can import the the vocal and the music and mix down and what they do with it is none of my concern. I have broken no law in any way shape or form... Also they can take this vocal to a professional studio and pay to have it mastered for commercial or promotional purposes. Most of my singers have been recorded numerous times for one thing or another and the novelty of being recorded isnt that great. But recording helps a singer improve their techniques and it has also taught me alot about adding fx during the mix down and eventually live at the shows.. Those are the benefits which keep us recording... |

I just mess with my recorder to do what Karyoker does. practice with it and perfect my recording skills while someone else is singing. I found what I think is the easiest way to record. I use my New Roland CD2 recorder. so simple to use it aint funny. |

I can't wait to do this. I plan on getting my karaoke hardware in Nov. for a Dec. party! I someday want to rig a cam that will display the singers on the big screen...It will also show the pole dancers and any music videos I play over the PA....Just takes money and time I like the idea of recording it too....Roxbox sounds like a a great suggestion! |

A few years ago we were playing a big club where the stage was center and the graphics was projected on the wall about 15x20 feet. on the opposite wall the singer was projected on the other wall in the same fashion.. It didnt do anything for the regulars or singers Then Kodac had a christmas party one year before karaoke and about 200 stayed for the karaoke.. We were all elevated to imported talent in a sense and needless to say it was one of those nights that all of the elements are present and it was awesome. Another kj that played there actually run music videos for fill on the big projector. |

An easy way to record your customers is with a DVD recorder with built in hard drive there are a lot available. You just set it up with the tape out rca plugs on your board and record live from your mixer and burn them a dvd audio copy if they want 1. Simple. |

I plan on showing the karaoke stuff on a sheetrock screen. I bought a very inexpensive lcd projector from a pawn shop a few years back. |
