Post subject:  Have you wall mounted your PA speakers?
Have you wall mounted your PA speakers at home?  If so, how did you do it and please post pics.  The PA speakers that I plan to get doesn't have speaker mounts on the bottom.

After many years of putting in jukebox sound systems (100 watts) I could just scream when these people say you need 500+ watts in family rooms or small enclosed areas. Thats like the kids with their  1000 watts in a car and back seat full of speakers.  A speaker against the wall puts out almost twice the power and one mounted in the corner almost three times. The best place to mount a speaker is on the wall next to the ceiling angled down. When all speakers are placed correctly the volume is constant from one end to the other. There is a critical distance between two adjacent speakers where at normal volumes a stereo effect is obtained even on the same channel.. Speakers mounted with the right angles distribute and light a room with the most efficiency and the sounds from each blend and dont cancel out with 90 to 180 cross phasing.. That is why polarity is important To see if speakers are in phase face them towards each other about 3 feet apart and see if the bass cancels or adds.. Outside you can just pour the watts and get sound.. inside acoustics play a bigger role than wattage fx or anything else and speaker placement is critical....l

Yeah, please post link to your speakers or identify them.

You can buy pole sockets from several places. Peavey will sell them to you I know fersure. You just cut a hole in the bottom and insert them and then tighten a few screws....

There is no way I would attempt to wall mount my speakers as they weigh about 80# each and are rather large.

Lonman, I went with your suggestion from another thread. (I realize you said that none of the PA speakers in the thread below weren't any good but ok for home use)
Remember, this is for home use and I'm on a budget.
SoundTech S20.
This is where I saw your recomendation, at least with what another forum member had to select from.

I was wondering if I could use this speaker mount but the SoundTech speaker width is to wide in the front.

Here are the specs for the SoundTech S20 speakers
Height  16.5 inches

Rear width  10.5 inches  
Depth  12.5 inches (at deepest point)  
Weight  21.85 pounds  

Here are the specs for the B-TECH BT77 UltraGrip Pro Speaker Wall Mounts
Handles a speaker from 5.5" to 11" Wide, up to 13" Deep and up to 20" High
Supports up to 55 pounds

I'm worried since the SoundTech S20 speakers are 14.5" wide in the front.
What do you guys think?

If you are good with tools and have them available, you can make those mounts work just fine.....

See the angled metal grips that are ment to cradle the speaker?...Just flatten it or cut off the vertical ears....Then drill some screw holes in them and screw your speakers to them :)
