That's right, the same kit I got last year. I went to Moore Music and got to play on a Roland TD-12S and a TD-6S. Same day I got the DTXPress and traded her plus paid 400 more dollars for the TD-6S. I also ordered another cymbal, a CY12R (other cymbals were 8 inch pads, wanted a 12 inch just for something different and needed a third cymbal anyway) and the clamps for it.

Don't have pics yet as I'm waiting for everything to get shipped (didn't want the store demo kit but a brand new kit) but pics and info can be found here: http://www.rolandus.com/products/produc ... arentId=60

They also had the Yamaha DTXtreme II there. If I had the extra 500 bucks I would have left with it. Nice kit, and the pads felt better than the tom pads on the Roland, but not as good as the snare pad on the Roland. The full kit should arrive by Feb 28. What do you all think?

And yes, I use my drums during karaoke for some shows.  Great for dance music or if the person singing karaoke requests it to give them the illusion of a live band.

I'm sure your gonna love the kit when you have it at home for a while. I got this 1 three years ago: http://www.rolandus.com/products/produc ... arentId=60
Welcome to Roland U.S. and used it for a few live shows with my blues band and it was great 2 channels in the mixer and the drums are done LMAO . I then bought another larger cymbal and use it for a ride and got the bigger pad for the snare (it came with the small pad wich I added as another floor tom). Your gonna have a blast with it. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, I like the one you got with all the mesh pads.  I wanted one like that but it was quite high, I figure I'll slowly upgrade the pads, switching the rubber ones to mesh slowly.  Granted at 200 bucks a pop per mesh pad, and I need 3, it'll take awhile.  Also thinking about a mesh bass pad, but that was a cool 400 bucks.

So do you think the PCY12 will be a good complement to the two PCY8's that come with the kit?  I didn't want all the cymbals to be the exact same size.  Thinking I'll program the 12 as a ride and the two 8's as crashes on the rim and effects for the second trigger.

Yeah that kit cost me about $6000. Canadian but worth it. The sound bank is endless and I'm still discovering new things on it. As for your additions I think you'll love em. Programming is so much more fun with the extra triggers.

That's great to hear.  I appreciate your input!  I liked my Yamaha DTX kit, but after playing the Rolands it just didn't compare.  Had a bit of a hard time justifying these to my wife too since the band I was in broke up a couple months back, but I can still use them a little in DJing shows and I plan on getting a new group up together soon anyway.
