I don't use a laptop to KJ, however, I would like to know if there is software for just managing a rotation. |

We too are manual at our bar...But we use a white board on the wall so that everyone can see the rotation...Cuts down on people asking when am I up? How many people until I am up...bLAH, BLAH BLAH.... Low tech answer but it works well for us..... |

We use a board with clips that holds all our tickets in place. Its easy to see our rotation..and they don't blow away in the warm weather when the door is open! |

I have a rotation order sheet. as people come to sing I put them on the sheet. That is the order they sing in the rest of the night. New singers are put on the bottom of the list. That doesnt make it a long time till they sing, it depends on where the rotation is when they put in their slip. |

Software such as SaxnDotty or Roxbox (and others) tracks singer's ques in a rotation These can be saved And some have singer history whereby you can que songs out of it... A computerized rotation is easier to maintain and is more stable than the old way with slips... |

I had one designed for my show - strictly rotation management. It was for sale, but there are a couple glitches that we couldn't overcome - nothing that harms the computer in any way, just has to do with the inserting of new singers. Once you know the how the glitch works, you can work with it, & it's fine. But we no longer take orders for it. I don't use the song listing too much anymore, but it will tell what time one was stamped in, approximate wait time based on 4 (user defineable), what time they sang last. But it does also hold a pretty large database - Access based - that you can song search, if not for anything just to see availability (or lack thereof). |
