Post subject: | Query With Microphone Delay |
Can anyone help me? I recently bought a karaoke player from karaoke direct. When singing there is a delay from speaking into the mics to it exiting the speakers. It is very off putting. I would appreciate anyones help. |

Make/model of unit? Could be as simple as an effects settings. |

As Lonman said, it's most likely an effects setting. As such you should be able to change it. And it's probably there to lessen feedback.. |

Thank you for your quick reply mate! The system is an AWF Extreme Karaoke system. Could it be the way it is set up? It is fed through a high range DVD player. Could that be it? It is Goodman's microphones that are used too. Any advice would be well appreciated. I am totally bamboozled Cheers Lorraine :worship: |

this unit has a digital echo dial on the front left side near microphone volume controls turn it all the way to the left and the echo should be gone. Your operators manual should give you info on this as well. |

I have tried the echo but button but it is isnae really echo as such it is an actual delay - when you sing it takes a short second for what yor singing to come through the speaker - it is as if you are playing catch up singing and is very off puttting. Sorry I should have been more specific when I said delay I never meant as in echo. Hope you understand, thanx for all ur help mate! Hope to hear fi ye soon.H |

That sounds like it's possibly a bad circuit inside regarding the mic inputs. Shouldn't be any other reason for that - at least that I can think of right off. |

Could it be anything to do with the fact that it is going into the tv first which has surround sound? |

If the surround circuit is enabled, then yes you could probably see a symptom of what you are decribing. See if there is a way to disable or turn off the surround mode to standard stereo mode on the tv. |

Sounds like it could be the DVD player that's the culprit here, I'm assuming it's a DVD recorder rather than player as you say it's fed through it. The one I have adds a second or so of delay, which can be annoying when my satellite system doesn't seem to be responding to the remote control when fed through it. |
