So now I need to pick up a wireless mic. I was originally planning on getting a Shure SM58 wireless but it is just way too expensive and fomr what I am reading is not necessary for karaoke especially at home. I def. want to go UHF though because I have flourescent (sp?) lights in my basement as well as 2.4ghz phone and wireless internet etc... Ive been reading that a lot of people recommend the Nady URR10 but those are all old posts and I can not seem to find this system available anymore! So can someone please help me out selecting a mic. This would plug into an RSQ MK22 player, or maybe even a powered mixer, because I would save some $$ over the Shure SM58. So please let me know what you guys think and I would appreciate some advice because most of the threads I find are old, and the products don't exist or ne wones are available. Thanks. |

The Nady link that All Star provided is a good unit for home use. And if you can wait for GuitarCenter to put these on sale you can get them for $20 less than the price listed. I have 2 of these that I use for my 3rd system which is for my "rowdy bars" and they work great. They have 1/4 and XLR connections. |

thanks guys. What is the difference between the mic poisted above and this one: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=l ... d/277096X/ and can any1 tell me how they compare to the SM58 please? And also how they compare to the Nady URR10 that has been discontinued. Both of those Nady's though are single Channell UHF, and I know the SM58 PGX24 one can change chanells. Is this something for me to be concerned about? Are there any Nady's that change channell? Thanks everyone. |

Sorry I'm so used to calling them guitar center it's just become a habit. Max - Looks like the same setup I can't tell the difference it appears to be the same unit. The only difference is in the X at the end of the part number. I think that may stand for "sale item" (just guessing) I purchased 2 of these in December for $69.95 each but this price is not bad at all. |

I see. Thanks. Questoin about the Nady. Should I maybe get the UHF16, that has 16 channells instead of just one? Also with the Nady does you voice get more Bassy as you move the mic closer like I have read about the SM58? Also the SM58 wireless uses 2 AA batteries and has a longe rplaying time but is also a lot more expensive. Ughhh I cant decide. If I go with the Nady, I can get a powered mixer and 2 speakers, if I go with the Shure Ill have to use my HT stuff now and later get speakers if I decide I need too... Oh man this is tough. Its hard to spend $400 for a mic. Also how would it compare to the Nady URR10 which is the only one I was able to find on tihs forum, and cant find the actual mic I think its discontinued now. Thanks guys. *EDIT* Also thinking about the Sennheiser FreePort. What do you guys think? |

I Hve never used the Freeport, but I do have the Evolution wireless 100. Sennheiser does not put out "disposable, cheap microphones. I can't imagine that this microphone will not perform well in a home or small gig application. Check the reviews om tje websites to get an ideal of people's opinion. Sennheiser is a little pricey, but my experience tells me you get what you pay for. Regards |

Thanks guys. Well after endless hours of research I just pulled the trigger on the PGX24/SM58 MIC! Yey! Now do you guys know if it will work well with the RSQ MK-22 unit? (I need to use those input jacks). Also can any1 suggest the 1/4" cable for me to get to connect it to the MK22? Thank again guys. I just want to make sure that the impedence and evreything will match and work well so I just want to make sure before I actually purchase the Mk22. Thanks. |

Most units come with a 1/4" 3ft cord so you should be able to plug and go. If not your local Radio Shack can help you. If you don't have a mixer you will be plugging direct to the MK-22. Congrat's on the choice to go Shure....thats a huge step above what we have been talking about in this thread. You will be very happy. |

thanks Flipper and everyone else. I would not have been able to do it without you. In case the unit doesn't come with the cord I need a regular 1/4" male to male? No stereo or anything like that? Also since I won't have a mixer, will the ohms on the mic match the ones on th mk-22 player? I remember reading somewhere about 'Z', will I have a problem? |

I have a Samson SR-33 for home use...........It works really well....It has a Shure SH-22 mic head and I love it. My cuz from Oklahoma came to vist last month and left me a used Nady that worked for 1 week before it quit.....I tossed it this morning....I bought the Samson last week really cheap...It sounds just like my Shure SM 58's, but will reach all the way out to the highway in front of my house....I like it. |

I bet it has only the 1/4" jack..............Just patch it in using the correct cable and you will be good to go...Tell the guy at Radio Shack you need a 20 foot 1/4" TS mic cable and you will be on your way. |
