somewhat. :newlol:
I had a good night at karaoke wed. night. As soon as I walked in, I went straight for the kj booth. Usually, I'll hit the beer line first. Yeah, I said line because Wed. is $2.00 pitcher night, but I don't drink that, I have to go with the bottled variety.
Anyhow, I started out with Pearl Jam's "Yellow Ledbetter"...I aced it I guess. Kj told me I was the first applause of the night, and I arrived an hour late as usual. :newlol:
2nd song was Creed "Sacrifice"......more applause. 3rd song was Staind "Outside"....more applause. I got to sing the last song of the night, and that was my 4th song Audioslave "I Am The Highway"....shall I say it? Nahhh. Oh what the hell....more ********!! :newlol:

Kj told me I hit every note tonight....which leads me to believe that I didn't other times...but she is such a sweetheart. :newlol:

When I started my first song, it was very soon after I arrived....I didn't even finish my first beer. I had some jitters, but not like before. After the first couple of verses, I started feeling like I owned it....that's such a good feeling!
I guess I really took Charmin's sig motto to heart! Thanks Charmin!!
By the 2nd song, I was beaming with confidence. That Creed song starts out jammin' and I introduced the lyrics in the proper key. I think I really like that song!.....more confidence.  :dancin:
3rd song was an oldie for me, I wasn't sure if I could remember it, but as soon as the music started, it all came back to me instantly...I love when that happens!
4th song, people were drunk on the dancefloor...girl screaming...I love this song!! :newlol:

Some dude that works at the place and was off duty hung out with me all evening.......so I wouldn't look like such a loser!! I don't mingle much, I just stand by and watch everyone else having fun mostly....keeps me out of trouble, and divorce court. :newlol:
There is some interaction though from people who recognize me. I have more friends as a result of this karaoke thing that I've ever had in my entire life!! I'm diggin' it!!

But I am a bit of a cynic. I feel like eventually my whole karaoke fantasy will come crashing down, and I'll be left empty and profoundly wounded.
But until then....I'm livin' the life baby!!  :biggrinthumb:

Congratulations :)

It's just so true that the more you do things like this, the more you will be able to get the nerves under control.  I remember the first couple of times I had to sing on a stage, I felt SOO SICK to my stomach from nerves, and I would stand like a statue up there with one hand clentching my pants/skirt.  And because of that, I was often unable to "let go" b/c I was so conentrated on the fear.  The more I sang in front of people, the "looser" and more comfortable I felt.  I'm not gonna say the nerves go away totally, but rather they transform from PARALYZING stage FRIGHT to more of an Anticipatory Stage Excitement.. Still nervous, but not debilitatingly so, and able to let go more on the stage.  Still working on it though.. Inhibitions are a killer lol.  (of course when karaokeing, a dash of inhibitioncide (booze) will always help me with that LOL).
