LOL,  Out've all the transitions into new decades, 30 wasn't as tough for most males (at least males I knew) as it seemed to hit females, 30 didn't phase me.......40 wasn't as tough as 45 for some reason....might not've actually been the birthday, just having a tough day, but 40 although it's starting to sound old...you can still get away with certain things...

But this one.....This one SOUNDS TOO friggin old Gail.... Problem with fifty, is people give you weird looks when you do the normal stuff that all teenagers do, you know the stuff that the age group we still feel we're in are doing ?  and scariest part is Fifty IS old :bigcry:  It's hard to call yourself a kid anymore,  when other members of your culture perceive you to be at an age where you are expected to be at the epitome of development in terms of mental, and emotional coping skill's.  Anyway, I dunno.... It just seemed to creep up on me  <shrug>

Thanks Melly,  thanks BadSinger...

I did EVERYTHING I could to avoid this from ever happening,  no wife, no kids, I'm an immature brat, I don't even have a life.......This wasn't supposed to happen to me...Out of ALL the birthday's IMHO to date....the toughest thing to tell yourself is

"I am 50"....It SOUNDS old...  I'm getting an image of that SNL skit where Danny DeVito is interviewing dancers....and this one lady comes in.....kicks, and keeps saying.... "and I'm 50" :(    Of course sleezy DeVito is into her...  hehehe

No...There must be a different Steve Kaplan in here,  I can't possibly be that old..OY

Anyway, I need to crash,  VNA will be here at around 7:30AM to fit me for a walker...and I might as well get those tight socks too,  so there isn't to much swelling around my ankles as my brain starts to sag.

Happy Birthday (BIG birthday I might add, lol) Steven.

I know it's an old saying (and since you're 50 now, you should be familair with those "old" sayings  :dancin: ) but really, you're only as old as ya act. Me, I'm 37 going on 25. Next year, I'll be 38 going on 25........... and so on.  Sometimes, I'm more like 37 going on 16.......

Times like now- when I'm dead tired, know I have to get up early & look all "fresh & sparkly" for a job interview........ but don't want to drag myself off to bed....... I feel like, maybe 30. So I best go off to bed, so I can wake up and feel my normal 25 self again in the morning.

Anyhow.....

Thank's Cindy.  Kiss back atcha !

Yeah Kellyoke,  I'm just going through the motions of entertaining a few family member's that drop by now and than.... This is a bigger deal for my mom.....Personally I'm not thrilled about the sound of "50".....LOL,  It sound's as if I no longer have excuses for acting immature...  diehard middle-aged sounding IMHO... LOL

Thanks for the greetings all !

Hey Crystal THANKS !!!   Parent's just left, we had a great afternoon, and I admit for awhile that the sound of this new decade bugged me,  but than I started to realize how lucky I am,  my folks are both healthy,  I've got all sort's of cool toys, I'm still working, I'm not in debt......Life's good....  So rather than mope about becoming an old fart, I suppose I'll consider the fact that I'm a lucky fart who also happens to be getting older like everyone LOL .   I think this birthday meant more to my parent's..I'm the oldest in my litter.

Anyway,  now with the birthday money,  I buy a karaoke machine, or a mixer and use the computer for karaoke.....Anyway....I want to get into online midi, and using the computer and the internet for music FINALLY....I just haven't a clue where to begin.. LOL

Kappy who says 50 is old?

If we all live until we are a hundred, 50 is only half way there.

If a glass is filled half way is it half full or half empty?

I say you are half full and I am full of it.
