I want to get a shure SM58 wireless mic. So now, which sound card do I need to get that will allow me ot input 2 mics like this, and perhaps have some knowbs for ehco effect? I ams till contemplating running through the PC or a DVD player so Im not sure yet. Since I will have a PC anyway I want to know my potions. Thanks.

What do you have currently regarding hardware?

Get yourself a mixer with onboard effects. Then you have enough knobs to play with.

Do you have a karaoke player? Give us some more information please.

M Audio makes perhaps the best pro level sound cards for the money....You can get the Delta 44 that allows you to patch into the PC via a pro level mixer using 1/4" TRS...Or you can go all the way up to the 1010 that allows dircet input with XLR mic inputs.

Check them out...Send them email and describe what you want to do.

I've got the Delta 44 and love it!

Nice card Keith, I might just buy myself one. I looked at the 1010 and might be even more suitable with the MIDI I/O included. Thanks for the info

With the 1010 or better, you can forgo the mixer......It has two built in preamps that folks tell me are really good....And great software.

The Delta 44 allows me to connect my PC to my mixer using fully balanced 1/4" TRS cables and the software lets me match inputs properly....It really is worth the money...But If I didn't have a mixer, then the 1010 or better would be a cheap but viable solution fersure.

Thanks guys. Im not sure I want a mixer though in a home theater setup. I dont have a computer yet so no hardware but I will be building one later on for a movie server. I have JBL S38 speakers as my main, and an SVS Subwoofer.

Here is what I want to do. I want to convert mp3+g files to DVD MPEG-2. So that I can fit many more songs on a DVD. So Im thinking just have a seperat eplayer with mic inputs and some echo effects like the Cavs DVD203G player or the RSQE500 (but it doesnt look like it has mic effects) seems it would be perfect. Any1 know how the mic inputs are on these, because I don't want to be spending so much $$ on a SM58 wireless mic and have crappy inputs. What would be your recommendations for what I want to do?
