Ok, this is last I bring it up, i promise (I am just happy I am done for now, and wanted to share with SOMEONE!) Had the last touch up last night, And these are the finished pics (until next summer, when I add to it:) Here is the OLD ugly TERRIBLY done tribal dragon (i had done at 15) The dragon is now under the blue flowers (which is why they have those odd black designs through them) And, here are 4 shots, done at angles, to ssee all the way around my arm- Anyways.. .i am REALLY happy with it, and just wanted to share:) Thanks for putting up with me!:) Promise, won't mention it AGAIN!:) |

The cover up on my lower arm you mean? With the drop shadowing? These ones are going to get shawdowed like THAT one, as well... but, I can't until I decide whether to add to it or not. If I add the shadow NOW... It really screws up the addition of more flowers, etc in the future.... Blah... imagine..> THIS is the most stressful thing in my life:) Lol, ahhh, the life of a lazy person with no worries:) I also just noticed that I had a tan when I took that pic of the dragon tat this summer... (ok, a tan for ME... remember, I am vampiric WHITE:)... wow... a tan. Astonishing. |

So beautiful!! Usually when I see tatoos I think that looks painful, but all I thought of was how pretty the flowers were. That is some professional art work - you must have paid a fortune. It was worth it :hi5: |

Thanks Crystal:) And babs... Well.. it cost SOme money.. But, I did negotiate a great deal, so My husband wasn't TOOO ticked off with the bill:) Allstar-----You sound like my father. Yes, skin tends to do that... which is why I got it NOW, while I am STILL young. I can enjoy it for a VERY long time to come. I can't change aging, but I don't have to run away scared. Seeing as how I am only 23, I think i have a long while before I have to worry about that. I will be one inky lady in the nursing home. I also gave myselfl some very distinctive identifying things, incase of some sort of murder, where my head is missing, etc... |

My mother who is a conservative, retired grade school teacher, in her 70s wants a tatoo. She keeps joking she wants a battleship on her chest so she can watch it sink LMAO I personally get bored with things to fast - if I got one I would love it for about a year and then want something different. I just admire other peoples from afar. |

Actually... my tattooist just tattooed his 80 year old grandmother:) I thought it was VERY neat:) You are never TOO old, in my opinion. But then, it is a very disagreed upon subject. Luckily, i don't LOOK like some harsh "scary tattoo chick" although, i AM very covered in ink. I can get away with it, and still maintain the "innocent" look. (gawd knows I am NOT though:) Babs, I get bored of things easily too:) And, I have SOoooo many tattoos now I am going to run out of body space. Which is why my husband suggested adding ONTO the tattoos to change them:) (Instead of getting new ones in different places) So yes, probably 10 years down the road, I won't remember what my real skin looks like.. But i will LOVE it:) |

Suzanne:) CHildbirth is kinda like getting a tattoo... (I say) you have to sit through some pain, but look at the beautiful end result:) And piercings? hehehe, I won't even begin the list of mine then, eh?:) |

Lol steven:) Isis:) Thanks... I am going back in, in a week, and having my back piece (the entire top half of my back) done in a shunga style picture;), and adding to the flowers on my arm, and adding a background, which will incoporate into the back piece as well.... My family hasn't seen me in over a year... and I go home for march break:) My mother is going to faint:) (which is a good result:) |

I have no knowledge regarding the process of tattoo's, or the artist's..Yet my first thoughts are, that if ever someone earns their money doing a job, this seems to be one of those professions..They CAN'T screw up can they ? These artist's must always be at their best. Just seems to be one of those professions where you can't make mistakes...Whatever they do, they have one take to do it, and from that point on the work is indelible ? |

Well.... that isn't saying MUCH.... because, people DOoooo brag about tattoos that they have, (www.ratemyink.com) and when you see them.... you are shocked by how bad they are... yet, the artists (if you can call them that) make money at it. Heck, my newest tattoos are all coverups, what does THAT tell ya:) Now, when I pick out an artist, I insist on seeing their work, and watching them sketch freehand, before I will let them ink me..... otherwise, it is ridiculous and silly to have it done, and laser to remove a BAD tattoo costs WAY more than the tattoo, and only works well on certain inks, etc. (plus it is supposed to hurt MORE than the tattoo:) Luckily, the artists I have now do great work, AND are REALLY close to my house. (My new artist was the guy who apprenticed the other artist (the one who did those flowers). I just switched to the older guy, to have my BIG piece done... purely for time constraints. This guy is a million times faster, because he has been doing it for longer. ALthough, i will miss my old guy:) I mean, hey, I spent ALOT of time with him rubbing me;) Ok, now that I am babbling... Oh, I would love to be apprenticed and learn how to tattoo (I love to draw, used to do portraits for a job as a teen), but my issue is what YOU mentioned... you mess up.. what do you DO?! "Oh, man, sorry"? Lol, the worst, is after HOURS sitting there (remember, I go for full days) the artist will joke and say "ooops".... gets me everytime:) |

When they do coverup work, I assume they can only go over an area with a darker ink ? IE....Yellow couldn't cover up a dark blue ink ? or is this more forgiving than I'm assuming it is ? |

Look at my pictures above. See that ugly black dragon? THAT is under the swirly black in the big blue flowers. Yes, you can ONLY cover a tattoo with one that is darker. Sadly, that USUALLY means a lot of blackwork. It took me a VERY long time to find an artist who was willing to work with me, to specifically draw something up, that would cover it without it being harsh, big and black:) Like a big black censored square.... although, I might have to do that on my back, I don't KNOW if I will be allowed to post my back piece when it is done...... (it is going to be based on a shunga print I have in my bedroom... my mother will GASP:) hugs steven. |
