Ok, I got some really good info from you guys and took it all into consideration. While I did not purchase all of the highest recommended items (will work my way up to some of that stuff) I did make some educated purchases, based on some good reviews, and the idea of having a warranty for at least a year while building my business. I do need a little more advice, but here is what I have purchased so far...
- Dell Laptop (2.4 Ghz) Plan on running dual PC/Player show. $600
- Behringer Eurorack UB1832FX-PRO Mixer: $230.00
- Behringer Europower EP2500 Power Amp: $300.00
- Samson R-21 (3 Pack) Microphones (Shure SM58 knock-off) - For Singers $50.00
- Furman M8D Power Conditioner w/Lights and Digital Voltmeter $100.00
- Sound Choice Foundations 1 + 2 and various other collections and individual disks.
- Various Mic Stands purchased.
- TWO - RSQ MK 22 $250
- TWO - JBL MPro MP215 15"s. (used deal)
- TWO - Behringer B1800X Subwoofers (used deal)
- SKB Gig Rig 10 Space rack with wheels and handle (used deal)
Need advice on buying two wireless mics. Prefer a two in one deal. Also on a floor monitor with volume control. Let me know if anybody has any other recommendations.
Please let me know what you guys think.
Thanks

Well.............
If you ever plan to add a subwoofer, then don't buy any dual 15" cabs....Buy a single 2-way 15 like the PV115.....If you know fersure that you will never want to include a subwoofer, then go for it with the PV215's.
But before you make up your mind think about a year or two from now when you might want to really shake the joint with big, deep bass......
The reason is.......
A: It's a waste of money to buy dual 15 cabs for the "extended bass" they offer, and then later pay big money for real bass.
B: It is also difficult to make your bass nice and tight when you combine separate subs with any dual 15 cab......You have to deal with the dual's built in crossover fighting against your active crossover and often end up with muddy sounding bass.
C: How are you going to raise the big dual cabs to where the horns are over the heads of the audience where they need to be?
You did good matching the power ratings of the amp and speakers.....

Keth01, The EP2500 is rated at 1200w @ 2ohm. Am I right to say that it is only giving 300w at the normal 8ohm. I am not talking about bridging or mono operation.
Correct me if I am wrong.

Actually, it's rated @750 watts into 4 Ohms stereo....The PV215 cabs are 4 Ohm cabs with a 700 watt program rating.....He should be fine as long as he doesn't grin his EQ at high SPL's.
Go to the Behringer site and download the full spec sheet. It lists lots more detail.

The reason I ask is because I plan to get one to run an SP2.

Which SP2? What is their program rating?
I have some SP2G's that are 600 watt program. I run them off a PV CS800S amp thru an X-1 crossover. The CS800 for them runs stereo at 8 ohms jacked into full range, with the sub freqs going to another bridged mono CS800S at 150 Hz with 1200 watts @ 4 Ohms into a pair of Kappa 400 watt 18" subwoofers....They shake the windows out of the house and have never gone into limiting. (DDT)
If I roll it all outside, I run the SP2G's off a bridged cs800s in mono tri-amped with 600 watts to each and add another pair of Kappas and another bridged CS800S.

The RSQ players - OK
The PV215 - not needed. Get a single 15" 2 way to begin with. These are easier to work with - especially in smaller venues (which most karaoke is). Not saying to buy FOR a small venue, but that is definately a factor to look at. The dual 15" are large & bulky & may have trouble putting them where they need to be. These work better when the area is larger, like a stage with a large dance floor in front. Take a look at the Yamaha Club S115V, http://www.americanmusical.com/item--i-YAM-S115V.html thesecome with stands at the moment as well & will sound decent with the Behringer amp (better - as any speaker would - with a better amp). These will blow the Peavey PV series away. You can always add a sub or 2 (I always recommend at least 1).
The Nady floor monitor - will sound tinny no matter what you do to it.
Good sound isn't cheap.

Its an old model SP2 at 500w rms 8ohm. The amp we use currently is too small and the band keep blowing the voice coil off the horn.

Those are decent older cabs, God knows how many are still on stages everywhere.
Forget the Behringer amp.....Not clean sounding nor reliable.
Consider a decent used CS800S or any pro level amp that can pump at least 600 watts stereo at 8 Ohms for your SP2's. You won't hurt then with a little too much power as long as you filter out the 40Hz and below.
Stop before you destroy the passive crossovers. They can only take so much.

The CS800S look good and. Hope there are some used one around town. The SP2 rock, just that it is heavier than me.

Thank you all for the info... What do you all think about the Peavey speakers? The Yamahas look nice, just a little more than I wanted to spend considering I will need to buy a decent subwoofer. Also, what is a good monitor to buy without breaking the bank? I was only getting the nady monitor as a cheapo for the singers to be able to hear themselves...Didn't think it was even really a necesity. Any 18" Subwoofers that are good bang for the buck values that will last for a little while?
Are there any other players that I should be looking at?
Thanks again,
D.J.

....Also, what do you all think about the players that I am considering? I really wanted to get one of the triple tray units from JVC, but they do not offer the same ability to play different formats...(DVD For one)

Anybody use the Fender 115XP? Seem like a good deal for the price. Got like an 8/10 review on most sites I found them on...
