For my vote, Soundchoise gets the nod. Pioneer would be a close second and may actually be better quality, but the fact that they just don't make em anymore bumps them behind the always-current SoundChoise!!

Sound Choice for general overall consistency, however each manu has it's gems & stinkers, Sound Choice just has more gems overall.

You know the karaoke downloads are illegal don't you?  I can assure you Sound Choice (nor probably any of the other manus) hasn't given permission & that site is downright illegal.  Sure you may be paying for the music, but the money doesn't go anywhere but in the web hosts pocket, NOT to the manufacturers or the artists!  Anyone that supports & uses these sites are ultimately KILLING the karaoke industry as the manfacturers will quit making new music which will filter down to the average singer that enjoys going out to sing because shows will either get so repetetive with everyone having the same selection or because the quality companies will get out of the business & let the crap sound companies take over.

I agree when it comes to sound quality with SC!

I remember reading somewhere that even Sound Choice were not paying the rights on the songs they use :(  In fact, I've checked (CND Rights Agency) to see how much it would cost me to purchased the rights if I wanted to burn a disk and sell it, and I was told that most company don't pay their rights, they didn't want to say the brands but I ask if SC was paying, than, they could give me an answer, and the answer was NO, this was 2 years ago!

They told me I needed to buy the rights from the artist who wrote the song and suggested I use the backing from a cdg manufacture, and if they come to me asking to be paid for using there arrangement, well, I just needed to ask them the proof that they paid for the rights in the first place.

Quite possibly the reason why it was about that time they started pulling many discs.  I doubt it though.  They seem to NOT produce music that would be in GREAT interest for them to & have given explanation that they either can't obtain rights, or that they are too expensive to justify costs at this time.

None of these companies get every song rendition correct. They are all good at most of them. Companies have improved their talent pool a great deal in the past few years. This happened when they couldn't sell their stuff because it sounded like crap. Just remember they are like copy cat bands. Some sound just like the record and others suck. That is taken, individually. Sound Choice costs the most. So you would expect their reproductions to be of higher quality. They might hire better musicians.
