Do you guys remember Kadenonline from last week or so?

He came to the forum asking which KJ equipment to buy and several of us made our suggestions and I mailed him a free V10G to get him started. Well, he has really gotten started!

He bought the following:

-Behringer UB1222FX mixer
-PV 115 speakers
-PV 1500 amp

His system is really going to sound good once he learns all about it!

He recieved the Pioneer V10G player and all the cables he needed in the mail recently and they finally shipped the new gear, so he called me tonight as he was attempting to hook things up for the first time.

Now we are attempting via email to teach him signal paths and gain structure. He is learning fast.

I expect he will return here once he is making noise for more tips.

Please, as you always do, help my new friend Kadenonline get thru this initial learning curve.

What a heckuva way to help someone get started!!!

That is the same player I use, and is so easy to use.  I like setting it for autopause and with the timer counting down on the song so I can see the time left.  Makes it easier than guessing on songs you are not familiar with, and lets you know how much time you have to take care of things before running back.

I just wish I could find another.  I have tried to pick up a used one on ebay, but I keep getting outbid, so they are still popular, even if they dont make them anymore.  (never figured out why they quit.... )

I don't really know fersure if they are actually available or not, but I have recently seen them listed with several etailers as "in stock" at about $299.

But you know how some of these etailer guys are...They never update their web sites like the bigger guys.

I was glad to give it to a guy who could use it. I had great service from it, but I replaced it with a rackable unit from Numark. The Numark actually sounds better and doesn't need to be padded coming into my mixer like the V10G. The Pioneer was consumer grade electronically and would tend to overdrive a pro grade mixer input unless padded....It has a attenuation switch, but it didn't actually switch it from "home" to "pro"....Whenever I attenuated the thing at the input or with the built in switch, it sounded overly compressed and lost some luster. If left unpadded it tended to overdrive with many of today's lastest cuts and they lost definition especially in the mains.
