Hi, I have AKJ 7050 and JVC 3 tray CDG player. I have a BBE 482I and wondered the best way to hook it up. Thanks, Mark |

There is only one problem with your BBE. It does not have balanced inputs and outputs....Better model BBE's do. It will generate hiss in your system and deminish your signal by 6db because of that. If you experience hiss, try using TRS cables and see if that helps, that won't make up for the lost db, tho. Anyway/eitherway, patch it in after your mixer and before the amp/amps...or you can insert it directly at the stereo inputs from the player if your mixer offers inserts on the stereo strip. If inserted at the player inputs, it will not effect your vocals....Which is good. Either way, start with all twisty knobs at 12 o'clock..........then be especially careful when you twist the low contour upwards....That BBE is capable of destroying your woofers in your top cabs if you try to get too much bass from them. It can damage your horns too if you get too aggressive on the high end, but I doubt your ears will let that happen. You will love what it does for your highs. |

The single link on top is the mics send return The 2 on the bottom are the stereo efx send and return I dont like using rca to 1/4" adapters I would replace the rca jacks on the mixer to 'normalled' 1/4" jacks A 'normalled' jack has a contact that feeds the signal to the return. When the plug is inserted it then routes it to the tip out... I run a Bbe362 and an Aphex 104 this way with no problems.. |

The evolution was the 422, 482I, 882, 882I If you google Bbe 422 you can find forums that compare them... Without knowing your system I would tend to look into an Aphex 104 or 204 with big bottom as the next upgrade.... Right now I'm running eq.(not using eq)> Bbe 362 > Aphex 104 >mains out... It is a kick (@$%!) system....Even with everybody set at 12:00... The eq in the mixer is not needed so I use it with the aux1 monitor out...In a new venue I turn all efx off, the Aphex off then adj the 362 with various songs for bass and treble for room acoustics... Then adj the 104 (362 off) and usually run the big bottom both cntrls at 12 or 1 the aural exciter tune at 11, mix at 1 or 2... then turn everything on... I give a demo starting with efx off and all audio processors off .Play an old mp3 that wasnt recorded with efx. Then turn efx on, the 362 on and the 104 on......It blows peoples minds..... |

I couldnt find an online manual for that model... The only critical part is hooking up the right powered speakers They say 180 watts max @ 8 ohms... I assume that's peak in which case the rms would be 125 to 150 watts rms.. The speakers then should be about 150 watts peak 200 watts... I'd get some more opinions on that from others on here like Lonman.... |

I used (and still have packed away) the AKJ 7050 and the JVC triple. I also had the BBE wired into it. I simply ran the output from the JVC into the BBE and then from the BBE into the AKJ mixer amp. The BBE really helped the music. When I upgraded to the Mackie CFX12 and SRM450's the BBE did not seem to make as much of an improvement. I will assume that is because I was using higher quality components. I now have the 882i which my entire mix runs through. I never got a hiss or noise from using either of the BBE units with the old system or the current. Cheers |

Thanks Marley! I tried this setup and couldn't get sound from the one side. From the JVC to the BBE i connect them to the inputs and then the outputs to the amp? Thanks, Mark |
